Adequacy & Effectiveness Policies
The Community Safety and Policing Act, 2019 (CSPA), which came into effect on April 1, 2024, replaces the former Police Services Act, 1990, significantly updating the framework for Ontario police service boards and their bylaws. The CSPA strengthens police governance, enhances accountability, and introduces mandatory requirements for board policies and member conduct.
