St. Thomas Police officers attended a downtown shelter to assist staff with a belligerent person. On arrival, police arrested a 38-year-old transient person on the strength of an STPS arrest warrant. This person was later released by police with a future court date and conditions to abide by. Ref# ST24000913

St. Thomas Police officers attended a residence in the west end of the city regarding a well-being check on a person. On arrival, police arrested a 39-year-old St. Thomas resident on the strength of an STPS arrest warrant. This person was later released by police with a future court date and conditions to abide by. Ref# ST24000937

St. Thomas Police officers attended a west end residence regarding a disturbance inside the dwelling. Through further investigation, officers arrested a 40-year-old St. Thomas resident on the strength of a Strathroy Police arrest warrant. Strathroy Police were notified, attended St. Thomas and took custody of this person for further processing in Strathroy. Ref# ST24000938

Elgin County OPP arrested a 25-year-old Port Bruce resident on the strength of an STPS arrest warrant. This person was brought to the St. Thomas Police station where they were later released by police with a future court date and conditions to abide by. Ref# ST24000944

In an ongoing effort to help protect the residents of St. Thomas from falling victim to online scams and fraud, the St. Thomas Police Service would like to remind the community on ways to protect yourself and things to consider while online:

  • Always get a second opinion from family or friends regarding the situation
  • No employer will reach out to you through apps like Whats App or Telegram
  • No employer will ever pay you in crypto currency
  • No employer will ask you to invest your own money
  • Use the Canadian Anti- Fraud Centre as a resource to familiarize yourself with current scams and additional ways to protect yourself.
