Missing person located safe

A 49 year old St. Thomas resident reported missing Friday January 19th 2024, was located safe and was returned home on Saturday morning. The St. Thomas Police Service would like to thank the community for their assistance. ST24000917

Fraud

A local resident is out approximately $345 after falling victim to an anti virus scam. On Friday January 19th 2024, police were contacted by the victim who reports receiving a notification that the anti virus protection program on their computer was set to expire and needed to be renewed. Through a series of communications the victim realized they had been scammed. This remains under investigation. ST24000880

Break and Enter  

St. Thomas police are currently investigating a break and enter that occurred at commercial property on Southwick Street on Sunday January 21st, 2024. Through investigation, police learned two unknown individuals entered a secured area of the property through a fence that had been compromised. Video surveillance on the incident is being reviewed as police continue to investigate. ST24000947

Warrant Arrests

A 32 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Sunday January 21st 2024, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant with our service for Mischief, stemming from an incident in May of 2023. The 32 year old was processed and released on an appearance notice. ST24000950

As the result of an investigation into a vehicle entry reported to police on January 9th 2024, a 29 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. Through investigation and review of available surveillance, police have charged the individual with 3 counts of Use of Credit Card, 3 counts of Fraud under $5,000, 2 counts of Possession of a Credit Card and 2 counts of Possession of Property under $5,000. On Sunday January 21st 2024, the 29 year old was located, arrested and processed on the charges. The St. Thomas resident was released on an appearance notice. ST24000975

Vehicle Entry

Personal identification has been reported stolen from a vehicle parked at an address on Highview Drive.  On Sunday January 21st 2024, STPS were contacted by the vehicle owner who wish to report that several pieces of their ID had been stolen from their vehicle sometime in the overnight hours.
