Impaired Operation

A 34 year old St. Thomas man has been charged following a traffic complaint in the city, last night. Shortly before midnight police received the report of a vehicle being driven erratically in the area of Wellington Street and Talbot Street. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. While speaking with the driver, obvious signs of impairment were observed. The 34 year old was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he registered 145 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

Charged with:

• Operation while impaired
• Operation while impaired, blood alcohol concentration 80 plus

He was released on an appearance notice with a future court date. ST26015028

Arrested Made in Indecent Act Investigation 

A 37 year old man has been arrested. On Wednesday, the accused attended police headquarters to turn himself in on an outstanding warrant stemming from an investigation into an incident reported on July 15th. Once processed, he was released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST26013621/4967

Assault

An 18 year old has been arrested following an altercation involving several youths. On Wednesday night police responded to a disturbance at the skatepark area on Caso Crossing. Through investigation, officers learned that a youth had been struck by another individual. Officers located the accused nearby. Charged with one count of Assault, the 18 year old was released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST26015012

Theft Investigations

A security camera has been reported stolen from an address on Gladstone Avenue. On Wednesday police received a report that an unknown man had entered the property just after 3:30 a.m. on August 2nd and removed the camera from the fence. ST26014965

A 42 year old St. Thomas woman has been charged following a shoplifting incident at a retail store on Talbot Street. On Wednesday police responded to the report of an unknown woman failing to pay for her items. The suspect was identified through surveillance footage and has been charged with Theft under $5,000. A warrant for her arrest has been requested. ST26015003

A 41 year old St. Thomas woman has been arrested following a shoplifting investigation on Wednesday night. Officers responded to a retail store on Talbot Street after receiving the report a unknown woman failing to pay for a quantity of clothing and food. The woman was located nearby with the items and arrested. Charged with one count of Theft under $5,000 she was released on an appearance notice. ST26015008

Two teens have been charged following a shoplifting incident last night. At 10:45 p.m. police responded to a retail store on Talbot Street for the report of the individuals leaving the store with unpaid merchandise. Officers located the individuals nearby. Charged with Theft under $5,000, they were released on appearance notices. ST26015017

Vehicle Entry

Several electronics have been reported stolen from a vehicle parked on St. Catharine Street. On Wednesday, it was reported that that the electronics, valued at more than $5,000 had been taken from the vehicle at some point overnight. No damage to the vehicle was reported. ST26014968

Warrant Arrest

A 33 year old man wanted by the Durham Regional Police Service was arrested in St. Thomas. On Wednesday officers on community patrol located the man known to be wanted by DRPS. The individual was arrested and transferred to Durham. ST26014969
