Intimate Partner Violence 

A 25 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested following a disturbance downtown. On Wednesday evening, St. Thomas Police responded to reports of an altercation between two individuals in the 800 block of Talbot Street. It was reported that a male had  assaulted a female victim before throwing a chair at the window of a business.

Officers located the involved parties and through investigation, charged the 25 year old with:

• Assault
• Assault Causing Bodily Harm
• Assault with a Weapon

A search incident to arrest found the accused to be in possession of a suspected methamphetamine. He was additionally charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance, processed and held for a morning court appearance. ST26010796

RIDE Results in Impaired Driving Charges

A RIDE program during the early morning hours has resulted in one driver being charged with impaired driving offences.

Three drivers were required to provide samples into an Approved Screening Device (ASD). One driver registered a pass, one driver registered an alert, resulting in an immediate seven day licence suspension, and one driver registered a fail.

A 23 year old London male has been charged with:

• Operation While Impaired
• Operation While Impaired Over 80

The accused was transported to police headquarters, processed and later released with a future court date. ST26010815/10818

Warrant Arrest 

A 30 year old St. Thomas woman charged with Failure to Comply with Release Order has been arrested. On Wednesday officers on community patrol located the individual downtown. She had been charged on Monday after police were notified that she had failed to charge her remote monitoring device, issued by the courts. ST26010571/10751

A 31 year old charged in a fraud investigation from 2024 has been arrested. On Wednesday morning, officers with the Peel Regional Police Service contacted STPS to advise they had the individual in custody on the strength of our outstanding warrant. Release documents were sent to Peel who processed the accused on our behalf. ST26010794

Mischief

St. Thomas police are investigating the report of damage caused to a vehicle parked on Hughes Street. On Wednesday, officers were called to the area after the owner of a vehicle found several scratches and damage to the passenger side of the vehicle. No entry was made. ST26010779
