Theft, Trafficking in stolen property:

On Saturday the 23rd of May we were called to a south end residence for the report of a male border who had been stealing from the residence in which he was renting a room. It was learned that the 48-year-old male had been taking items of value from the home and listing them online for sale. The male was arrested, charged with theft under $5000.00 and trafficking in property obtained by crime. He was later released with conditions and a future court date. Incident ST26009388.

Shoplifting:

On Saturday afternoon we were called to a downtown business for reports of a female that had left a store without paying for a pair of sunglasses. The 55-year-old female was identified from security video, however the store owner declined to proceed with charges and the female was trespassed from the store. Incident ST26009389.

On Saturday evening we were called to a store for reports of two shoplifting incidents. A female had reportedly paid for her groceries but loaded a potted plant into her vehicle upon leaving the store without paying for the item. A photo is below. While at the same location loss prevention advised that a female party had left the store without paying for a single item of food. The 33-year-old female was identified from video and was issued a trespass notice at the request of the store manager. Incident ST26009415.

Mischief:

A homeowner in the south end reported that overnight someone had keyed the side of their vehicle while parked in their driveway. The neighbourhood was canvassed for video and the matter is currently under investigation. Incident ST26009403.

Vehicle entry/Theft:

On Saturday afternoon we attended a north end residence for report of items stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight. The homeowner advised that they were missing a Milwaukee backpack and approximately $2000.00 in assorted tools. The matter is currently under investigation. Theft:

On Saturday evening we were contacted by a victim who reported that while he was working out at a local gym the lock had been cut off of his locker and his credit and debit cards were stolen. The caller was able to lock his missing cards with his bank, but later learned that someone had attempted to use his cards at a local business but were unsuccessful. Officers attended the business but as there was no transaction record staff were unable to advise when specifically, the cards were used for obtaining security video. Incident ST26009409.

Warrant Arrest:

On Saturday night evening officers arrested a 33-year-old St Thomas woman on the strength of warrants held by both Niagara Regional Police Service, Peterborough Police Service and the OPP. The other agencies were unable to attend to continue the arrest and the female was later released unconditionally. Incident ST26009410
