Recovered stolen vehicle

A truck and trailer reported stolen from a business on May 19th, 2023 has been recovered. On Sunday June 11th, 2023 St. Thomas police were contacted by Halton Regional Police who had located the stolen vehicle and had it in a secure compound. STPS contacted the local owner to advise them. Arrested

A 32 year old St. Thomas resident attended police headquarters on an unrelated matter when officers became aware of an outstanding warrant with our service for Failure to Comply with Probation Order and Failure to Comply with Release Order.  The 32 year old was processed and release on an appearance notice. A 29 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Sunday June 11th, 2023 St. Thomas police were contacted by Elgin OPP who had the resident in their custody on the strength of our warrant for a Break and Enter charge from an incident on June 2nd. The 29 year old was transferred to STPS custody, processed and released on an undertaking. ST23010133

Vehicle Entries 

A wallet has been reported stolen from a vehicle on Erie Street. Sometime in the over night hours of June 9th, 2023 two vehicles parked in the laneway of a home were entered. The wallet contained personal identification and bank cards that have since been cancelled. No damage to either vehicle was reported. ST23010051

A black iPhone has been reported stolen from a vehicle on Talbot Street. After attending a church service, the owner of the vehicle returned to find the vehicle had been rummaged through and the iPhone stolen. Police are reviewing available video surveillance of the area at the time. ST23010126

Wanted

A 38 year old St. Thomas resident is wanted by St. Thomas police for Theft under $5,000. On Sunday June 11th, 2023 STPS were called to an address on Princess Avenue to investigate a theft that had occurred. Through investigation it was learned that a gym bag containing personal clothing, medication, a cell phone and some cash had been stolen. Police were able to review video surveillance and identify the suspect. A warrant has been requested. ST23010064

Mischief

St. Thomas police are investigating a mischief. On Saturday June 10th, 2023 police were contacted by a vehicle owner who wished to report that the tire of their car had been slashed while attending a local festival. STPS are reviewing available photos and continue to investigate. ST23010079

Stunt Driving

A 58 year old London resident has been charged with Stunt Driving. On Sunday June 11th, 2023 St. Thomas police conducting speed enforcement on Burwell Road captured the vehicle travelling more than 50km/hr over the posted speed limit in. As a result, the driver was charged with Stunt Driving and the vehicle was impounded. ST23010117

Found Property

A large amount of property has been recovered by St. Thomas Police. On Sunday June 11th, 2023 an alert citizen contact police in regard to a large amount of property along the tree line of a park on the north side of the city. Various tools, electronics and personal belonging were collected by STPS and brought to police headquarters to be processed. Police are reviewing video surveillance of the area and continue to investigate. ST23010119

Theft

St. Thomas police are looking for assistance identifying the person seen in this photo after police were called to a retail store on Talbot Street to investigate a theft. At approximately 8:30 p.m. on Sunday June 11th, 2023 store employees report the unknown person entered the store, filled a cart with merchandise and proceeded to leave the store without paying. Break and Enter

St. Thomas Police are investigating a break and enter that has occurred. On Sunday June 11th, 2023 St. Thomas Police were called to the 400 block of Talbot Street after a resident in the area reports the glass from the front doors of a business had been smashed. CCTV and video surveillance of the incident are being reviewed by police as they continue to investigate. ST23010168
