Warrant arrests, Thefts, Mischief and Stolen Vehicle

Warrant Arrests

A 34-year-old St. Thomas resident was arrested on the strength of a probation warrant. Probation had reported the individual breaching court ordered conditions. The individual was released with a future court date.  ST25005132.

A 19-year-old St. Thomas resident was arrested by OPP on an unrelated incident, when they were made aware of an outstanding probation warrant with STPS from January of 2025. The individual was held by OPP for a court appearance for both matters. ST25005158.

Thefts

St. Thomas Police are currently investigating two thefts of alcohol from local businesses, on Talbot Street, and on Elm Street. In both incidents, youth were captured on camera selecting 12 packs of Twisted Teas and walking out the door. Video surveillance of the youth involved is being reviewed, and the incidents are both still under investigation. ST25005156, ST25005161.

Mischief

Property damage, caused by multiple youth in the downtown area reported to the St. Thomas Police Service. The youth were observed by witnesses kicking doors, breaking windows with stones, and swearing at the property owners. Youth involved were identified, and were ages 10-14yrs old. The incident is still under investigation. ST25005145.

Warrant Arrest

A 53-year-old St. Thomas resident was arrested on an outstanding warrant. The incident was reported in December, 2024, where the individual was captured on video committing a theft. The individual was located, arrested and released with a future court date. ST25005164, ST24022189.

Thefts

A downtown business reported a theft of milk and yogurt. The individual was captured on camera selecting, concealing, and leaving the business, failing to pay. The individual was identified, and located a short time later. As a result, a 42-year-old St. Thomas resident has been charged and arrested. The individual was transported to Police Headquarters for processing and later released with a future court date. ST25005163.

St. Thomas Police are currently investigating a theft from a downtown business. An individual was captured on video selecting and concealing merchandise, then leaving the store, failing to pay. The incident is still under investigation. ST25005184.

Vehicle Entry

An unlocked vehicle is entered in the city’s north end, resulting in the theft of a wallet, and unauthorized purchases. The complainant reports being out 160$, after purchases are made using their CIBC debit card. The incident is still under investigation. ST25005189.

Stolen Motor Vehicle

St. Thomas Police are currently investigating a stolen motor vehicle. A blue 1998 GMC pick up truck was stolen from a resident’s driveway, just north of Talbot St., sometime overnight. Police are currently canvassing for video, and the incident is still under investigation. ST25005263.
