Warrant Arrests

A 30-year-old London resident was arrested on the strength of a Provincial warrant, when they attended Elgin County Courthouse for an unrelated matter. The Provincial warrant stemmed from an incident in St. Thomas in January of 2024. The individual was held for their court appearance and was additionally wanted by multiple other Police Services. A 54-year-old St. Thomas resident was arrested on the strength of a warrant held by London Police Service. The individual attended the Elgin County Courthouse on an unrelated matter, and was arrested by officers on the strength of the LPS warrant. The individual was held for court, and later released with a future court date for LPS. ST25005269.

St. Thomas Police attend a residential area, just north of Talbot St. for a report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, police located a 34-year-old St. Thomas resident that was currently wanted on multiple outstanding warrants. The individual was arrested, and released with a future court date. ST25005305.

St. Thomas Police arrest a 44-year-old St. Thomas resident on multiple outstanding warrants. Police, on general patrol, recognized the individual in the downtown area, and information was provided of the multiple warrants. The individual was arrested on the strength of the warrants, and prior to transporting to Police Headquarters, a search was conducted. During the search, a quantity of drugs, and a large amount of cash were seized. The individual was additionally charged with 2 counts of – Possession of Schedule 1 Substances. Thefts

St. Thomas Police are currently investigating a theft from an east end retailer. Two individuals were captured on video surveillance stealing 150$ worth of meat. The individuals selected, concealed, and left the store failing to pay. The video is still being reviewed, and the incident is still under investigation. ST25005265.

St. Thomas Police were called to a South side retailer for a theft in progress. Upon arrival the suspect was identified as a 43-year-old St. Thomas resident that was already on conditions to not attend that store. The individual was arrested, charged with 2 counts of Failing to Comply with Probation Order, and 1 count of Entering a premises when entry prohibited. The individual was transported to Police Headquarters, processed, and released with a future court date. ST25005312.

Fraud

A St. Thomas resident has lost approximately 70,000$ to an investment scam. Police in the Criminal Investigation Bureau, are currently looking into the matter. The victim had invested funds into an organization called “The Good Life” (TGL), and had sent money via, forest(app), e-transfer, and bitcoin, beginning in February of 2024. The scammer, who was female, communicated with the victim, using different phone numbers. When the victim realized it was a scam, communication and fund transfers stopped. ST25005278.

Arson

St. Thomas Police are currently investigating an Arson. A fire was started deliberately in a dumpster, behind an east end retailer. Police are currently canvassing for video, and the matter is still under investigation. ST25005320

Mischief/Intimate Partner Violence

St. Thomas Police attend a North end apartment building after multiple 911 calls. A verbal dispute between Intimate Partners, escalated when a television was smashed. Upon arrival the involved parties were identified. A 24-year-old St. Thomas resident, was arrested and charged with Domestic Mischief. The individual had just been released with conditions to not communicate with the victim on the 13th of March, however written revocable consent to communicate was given on the same day. The individual was transported to Police Headquarters for processing, and held for a court appearance. ST25005326.
