St. Thomas Police Service media release for Sunday December 8th, 2024

On December 7, 2024, St. Thomas Police responded to a call at 1063 Talbot Street regarding a shoplifting incident. A 53-year-old St. Thomas man was charged with theft under $5000 and released with a future court date. ST24022189.

Later that day, police were called to a northside residence in response to a theft. Investigation revealed that an 18-year-old St. Thomas man had stolen property from a family member and fled the scene. The suspect was located but resisted arrest. He was subsequently charged with theft, breach of probation, resisting arrest, and was held for a court appearance. ST24022190.

At another northside address on December 7, 2024, police responded to a report of an unwanted person. Officers located a 58-year-old St. Thomas man who was prohibited from being at the residence and had an outstanding arrest warrant. The man was arrested and held for a court appearance. ST24022197.

Police were also called to 1063 Talbot Street later that day for a disturbance involving a female. Officers found a 31-year-old St. Thomas woman who was violating conditions not to be at the store and had an active warrant for her arrest. She was processed and released with a future court date. Just after 9:00 PM, St. Thomas Police responded to a call involving a weapon on Elgin Street. The victim reported being threatened by her neighbour, who was armed with a baton. A 39-year-old St. Thomas man was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, and uttering threats. He was released with a future court date. At 10:00 PM, officers responded to a family dispute at a northside residence. Police determined that a male had assaulted a female known to him. The male was arrested without incident and charged with assault. He was held for a court appearance, where he was later released. ST24022209.
