Warrant Arrests:
On Friday morning a 53 year old St Thomas man attended the police station to turn himself in. The man was wanted on an outstanding warrant held by the Strathroy Caradoc Police Service. The man was arrested without incident and later turned over to the Strathroy Caradoc Police Service to answer to his charges. ST23002967
Later on Friday morning police were called to a downtown business for reports of a female believed to be wanted by police. Police attended and located the 42 year old female who was wanted in relation to a Break and Enter that occurred earlier this month. The female was arrested without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Building where she was later released by the court. ST23002976
On the afternoon of Friday STPS were informed that the Huron County OPP had a 38 year old male in their custody that was wanted by the STPS for failing to attend court. Members of the STPS met Huron County OPP at a closer detachment and took the male into custody. The male was transported to the Colin McGregor Building where he was lodged in cells for morning court. Bail Violations:
Early on Friday afternoon police were called to a housing complex for reports of a male party breaching a no-contact condition of his release. Police attended and located a 40 year old St Thomas man at a property he is bound by conditions not to attend and in the company of a person he is not to communicate with. The man was arrested without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Building where he was processed and lodged in cells for court. The man is charged with two counts of Fail to Comply with Undertaking and three counts of Fail to Comply with Probation. ST23002988
Warrant:
A warrant has been issued for a 24 year old St Thomas man after he was found to be breaching conditions of his probation by not reporting to the bail supervision program. ST23002992
Fraud:
A 44 year old St Thomas man is out $3400 after falling victim to a scam. The man received a phone call from a person claiming to be from the Anti-Fraud department of his financial institution. The scammer was then able to convince the victim to provide access codes to his account(s) and money was transferred without the victim’s consent. The St Thomas Police Service would like to remind citizens to be wary of phone calls and text messages related to any financial transactions and to contact the numbers provided on the reverse of your cards or on the institution’s website(s) should you be contacted over the phone or via email and text. Shoplifting:
On Friday the 24th of February 2023 the St Thomas Police Service attended a local business for the report of a male shoplifter that had fled the store. Police learned that a male suspect, wearing a black ball cap, camouflaged jacket, dark jeans, and beige work boots had secreted merchandise inside his backpack before being confronted by Loss Prevention and fleeing the store.
