Intimate Partner Violence 

A 66 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with Assault after police were called to an address on the southside of city. At approximately 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday October 8th 2024, police received a 911 call in regards to a disturbance in progress. Officers attended the area and through investigation learned a verbal argument between spouses had escalated, result in a physical assault. As a result, a 66 year old St. Thomas resident was arrested and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. No injuries were reported. ST24018192

A 37 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested and charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm after police were called to a disturbance in the center of the city at approximately 12:30 a.m. this morning. Officers attended the area and located two individuals, one with significant injuries. Paramedics attended and transported the victim to the hospital for medical attention. Through investigation, police learned a verbal argument between spouses had escalated resulting in a physical assault. As a result, the 37 year old accused was arrested and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and held for a morning court appearance. ST24018229

Attempted Motor Vehicle Theft 

St. Thomas police are currently investigating the attempted theft of motor vehicle. On Tuesday October 8th 2024, police were called to an address on the northside of the city by a vehicle owner. It was reported that the vehicle had been parked in a residential parking lot since Sunday. When returning to their vehicle yesterday, and window had been smashed and the ignition damaged. On site video surveillance is being provided to police as they continue to investigate. ST24018200

Mischief

A 59 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after police responded to a neighbour dispute, last night. Through investigation officers learned that the accused had caused damaged to their neighbours exterior camera system. As a result, the 59 year old was charged with one count of Mischief and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. Theft

St. Thomas police are currently investigating a theft that occurred from the front yard of a home in a west end neighbourhood. On Tuesday October 8th 2024, officers were called by the homeowner who wished to show them surveillance video of an unknown person attending their address and stealing a child’s wagon. Police are looking to identify the individual in the photo below in relation to this incident. ST24018215

Warrant Arrests 

A 48 year old London resident has been arrested. On Tuesday October 8th 2024, officers attended the Elgin Middlesex Detention Centre to process an outstanding warrant with our service for Breach of Probation. The individual was processed and remains in custody. ST24018180

A 27 year old St. Thomas resident, currently in custody at the Elgin Middlesex Detention Centre has been additionally charged. On Tuesday October 8th 2024, officers attended EMDC to process an outstanding warrant for one count of Break and Enter. The individual was processed and remains in custody. ST24018182

A 39 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday October 8th 2024, police were called to a grocery store on Talbot Street to  investigate a shoplifting incident that had occurred. Officers reviewed available video surveillance of the incident and located the person responsible a short time later. The 39 year old was charged with one count of Theft under $5,000 and transported to police headquarters to be processed. During processing, officers became aware of an outstanding warrant for Theft under $5,000 stemming from an incident in June. The individual was processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST24018185/18189/10259
