Assault Police

A 31 year old St. Thomas woman has been arrested following a dangerous driving report Tuesday evening. Just after 7:00 p.m. police were called to the north side of the city for the report of a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed through a residential neighbourhood. Officers were provided a description of the vehicle and located it in the area.

The vehicle continued at a high rate of speed as officers activated their lights and sirens, attempting to stop the vehicle.

The vehicle eventually turned down a dead end road and came to a stop. When attempting to speak with the driver, identified as the 31 year old St. Thomas woman she became combative with officers, physically assaulting them.

As a result, she has been charged with:

Assault peace officer
Fail to stop
Disobey stop sign fail to stop x 2
Fail to surrender driving license
Fail to surrender insurance card

Once processed at police headquarters, she was released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST26011817

Warrant Arrests

An 82 year old St. Thomas man, charged with Failure to Comply with Release Order has been arrested. On Tuesday evening, officers located the accused and transported him to police headquarters. Once processed, he was held to attend court. ST26011767/11652

A 32 year old Tillsonburg man has been arrested. On Tuesday, officers with the OPP contacted STPS to report they had the individual in their custody on the strength of our outstanding warrant. The individual had been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Fraud Over $5,000 and Use, Deals, Act on Forged Documents stemming from an investigation in January. All documents were sent to OPP who continued the arrest on our behalf. ST26011791/ST26001034

A 16 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant for Thet funder $5,000 after being identified as one of the parties responsible for stealing alcohol from a retail store on Wellington Street. A 15 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested has been arrested. On Tuesday, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant for the Theft under $5,000 after being identified as one of the parties responsible for stealing alcohol from a retail store on Wellington Street. A 48 year old St. Thomas woman has been arrested. On Tuesday, the individual attended police headquarters to turn herself in on an outstanding warrant held with the Toronto Police Service. While being processed, officers were made aware of an outstanding warrant with our service. The 48 year old had been charged with Mischief and Uttering Threats following an incident in the city last week. She was processed on all charges and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST26011821/11163

Vehicle Fire

No injuries were reported in a vehicle fire at First Avenue and South Edgeware Road, Tuesday afternoon. Police assisted STFD with traffic control until the fire was extinguished and vehicle removed from the road. ST26011774

Theft

The licence plate of a motorcycle has been reported stolen. On Tuesday, the owner of the vehicle contacted police to report the plate had been stolen at some point in the overnight hours. ST26011785

STPS are investigating the report of a gas drive off. On Tuesday, police were contacted in regards to an unknown person failing to pay for $47 of gas from a business on Talbot Street. Available video has been provided policeST26011800

Mischief

St. Thomas police are investigating the report of mischief following a call for service early this morning. Officers attended a Talbot Street address after tenants we woken up by what appeared to a brick throw at their window. No injuries were reported. CCTV in the area is being obtained. ST26011829
