Arrest Made in Mischief Investigation 

A 37 year old St. Thomas woman has been arrested. On Monday, officers on community patrol located the individual who had been charged with Mischief and two counts of Failure to Comply with Probation after being identified as the person responsible for causing damage to the store front of a business on Ross Street last week. She was transported to police headquarters, processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST26011684/11327

Intimate Partner Violence – Warrant Arrest 

A 36 year old man has been arrested following the report on an unwanted person at an address on Elm Street. Monday morning. It was reported the accused, who is currently bound by release conditions to not attend the address of the call or communicate with the party that lives there was inside the residence. The accused was taken into custody without incident and transported to police headquarters where he was processed to attend court and remanded into custody. ST26011685/11692

Failure to Comply Leads to Additional Charges

A 38 year old St. Thomas has been charged following a disturbance, early this morning. Police were called to attend an area on Talbot Street for the report of accused arguing with another male. Upon arrival, officers located both men. Through investigation, it was learned the 38 year old is currently on release conditions to not communicate with the male. Charged with Failure to Comply with Release Order and Failure to Comply with Probation, he was transported to police headquarters to be processed. A search incident to arrest found a quantity of suspected methamphetamine. The 38 year old was additionally charged with one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance and held for court. Assault

St. Thomas police are investigating the report of an assault that occurred on Monday evening, in the 500 block of Talbot Street. At 8:30 p.m. officers were called to the area after two individuals report having a bucket of hot water thrown on them by an unknown woman. CCTV in the area is being reviewed as police continue their investigation. ST26011751

Vehicle Entries 

St. Thomas police are investigating the report of several vehicles being entered at business on Laing Blvd. in the industrial area of the city. On Monday, it was reported CCTV from the weekend captured two unknown individuals gain access to the locked area of the business and enter the vehicles. The video has been provided to police who continue to investigate. ST26011694

Theft

$60 of cosmetics have been reported stolen from a retail store on Talbot Street. On Monday, police received an online report of the theft that occurred on June 17th. Video of the suspects has been provided to police. ST26011709

A 38 year old St. Thomas woman has been charged with Theft under $5,000 after being identified as the person responsible for stealing merchandise from a Talbot Street pet store. A warrant for her arrest has been requested. ST26011683

Fraud

A local resident is out approximately $500 after falling victim to a gift card scam. On Monday, the victim contacted police to report that an individual posing as a representative from their bank, seeking assistance with a investigation had contacted them asking for help. The victim was instructed to purchase several gift cards and provide the information to the scammer. This remains under investigation. ST26011726

Warrant Arrests

A 28 year old St. Thomas woman has been arrested. On Monday morning, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted by our service for one count of Assault and one count of Theft under $5,000 stemming from separate incidents in April. She was transported to police headquarters, processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST26011671

A 44 year old man charged with Theft under $5,000 and Failure to Comply with Probation has been arrested. On Monday, officers at the Elgin County Courthouse were dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter when they were made aware of the outstanding warrant for arrest, stemming from an investigation in November. The 44 year old was processed, appeared before the courts and was remanded into custody. ST26011691/25020902
