Warrant arrests
A 32 year old St. Thomas resident wanted by police after failing to comply with their release conditions, has been arrested. On Monday February 5th 2024, officers on community patrol located and arrested the individual. A 61 year old St. Thomas resident wanted by police after failing to comply with their release order, has been arrested. On Monday February 5th 2024. STPS received notification from Elgin OPP that they had the individual in custody on the strength of our warrant. Officers attended Elgin OPP and took custody of the 61 year old, transporting them to St. Thomas police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. A 46 year old Port Stanley resident has been arrested. On Monday February 5th 2024, the 46 year old attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding probation warrant. The individual was processed and released with a future court date. ST24001776
A 23 year old Aylmer resident has been arrested. On Monday February 5th 2024, Aylmer officers attended St. Thomas police headquarters as they had the individual in their custody on the strength of our warrant stemming from incidents in January resulting in charges of shoplifting and theft under $5,000. The 23 year old was processed and released on conditions and a future court before custody was transferred to London police service who held an outstanding warrant for the individual. ST24001813
Prevent breach of peace
On Monday February 5th 2024, officers were called to disturbance at a northside residence. Upon arrival, police spoke with two individuals known to each other who stated an argument between them had been escalating To avoid further escalation or incident, one the parties was removed from the area until calmer heads prevailed. Assault
A 30 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Monday February 5th 2024, STPS received a 911 call from a St. Thomas resident wishing to report that they were assaulted by their partner. Police arrived to a northside address and learned that an argument between the couple had escalated and turned physical. Through investigation, officers formed grounds to charge the partner, a 30 year old St. Thomas resident with one count of Assault and one count Assault Causing Bodily Harm. The individual was arrested and transported to police headquarters where they were processed on the charges and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST24001821
