Warrant arrests

A 30 year old  St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Monday April 15th 2024, St. Thomas police were contacted by London police who had the individual in custody on the strength of our warrant for Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Use, Deals, Acts on Forged Documents and Fraud under $5,000. STPS attended London and took custody of the 30 year old, transferring them to police headquarters where they were processed and transported to the Elgin County Courthouse. A 35 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Monday April 15th 2024, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant with our service stemming from an incident in March where they were charged with Mischief, Assault and Obstructing police. The 35 year old was processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST24005970/ST24004645

A 42 year old London resident has been arrested. On Monday April 15th 2024, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant with our service for failing to comply with their release order. The 42 year old was processed and released on an appearance notice. ST24005986

Vehicle entry

Approximately $1,200 of damage has been caused to a vehicle and $500 in property has been stolen. On Monday April 15th 2024, the vehicle owner attended police headquarters to report the damage and theft. Through investigation, police learned the vehicle that had been parked on Oliver Street on April 13th had been entered and an attempt to remove the wiring from the vehicle was made. The owner of the vehicle reports that a tire inflator, battery charger and sunglasses were stolen. This remains under investigation. ST24006004

False fire alarm

A 50 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday April 16th 2024, police responded to a 911 call in regards to a suspicious person who had pulled the fire alarm at an apartment building the 800 block of Talbot Street. Upon arrival, police cleared the building locating the suspicious person who explained they pulled the alarm after being locked out of their apartment in hopes of being let back in by emergency responders. The 50 year old St. Thomas resident was charged with one count False Fire Alarm and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an appearance notice.
