False Fire Alarm
A 47 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with Mischief, specifically interfering with property valued under $5,000. On September 6th, 2023 at approximately 9:00 a.m. STPS attended a downtown location after the St. Thomas resident activated a fire alarm without a genuine emergency. The 47 year old was arrested and later released with a future court date. ST23015858
Break and enter investigation
On September 6th, 2023 St. Thomas police responded to the report of a break and enter to a garage on the west side of city. Upon arrival, police located a hole cut into the north side of the garage and an extension cord leading to a nearby address. This cord was connected to various electronic devices, which were seized. Arrested
A 36 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On September 6th, 2023 officers on community patrol located the individual known to be wanted by our service for breach of probation. The 36 year old was processed and released on an appearance notice. ST23015863
A 35 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On September 6th, 2023 officers were dealing with the resident on an unrelated matter when they became aware of several outstanding warrants with our service from incidents earlier this year. The 35 year old was arrested and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and held for court. ST23015912
UHaul Recovery
An update to a media release first shared by STPS on September 3rd, 2023; a stolen Uhaul truck has been recovered. On September 6th, 2023 St. Thomas Police were contacted by London Police who had located the truck. The victim was notified and attended the location to retrieve the contents of the rented Uhaul. Stolen Bike
A Movelo Algonquin, green/grey bike has been reported stolen. On September 6th, 2023 police were contacted after the victim attended a local retail store, leaving their bike in the provided bicycle rack. Upon returning to the bike rack after shopping the bike was gone. This remains under investigation. ST23015908
