VEHICLE ENTRIES

Officers on Community Patrol attended two addresses in the city yesterday after the residents reported that their vehicles were entered sometime overnight.  One vehicle had the side window smashed and a wallet containing cash, credit cards and ID was stolen.  The second was an unlocked pick up truck, where the suspects punched the ignition in an attempt to steal the vehicle.  ST23015784, ST23015811.

FRAUD

Officers on Community Patrol were called to a downtown business after the owner reported a fraud.  The owner had left their briefcase behind their business for a short time in July and it was stolen.  It was not believed that anything of value was taken.  They later learned that 4 cheques had been cashed in the amount of approximately $2,000.   Police are investigating.  ST23015806

WARRANTS

Yesterday morning London Police contacted STPS to report that they had a male in custody that was wanted on a warrant by our service.  STPS officers attended London to execute the warrant and transport the 34 year old St. Thomas resident to the Colin McGregor Building to attend court.  They were later released by the courts with a future court date.

Yesterday the Elgin OPP contacted STPS to report that they had a male in custody that was wanted on three warrants by our service.  STPS officers attended the Elgin OPP detachment to execute the warrants on the 33 year old male.  He was held at OPP cells for a court appearance for OPP charges and STPS charges.  He was remanded into custody.

Officers on Community Patrol were called downtown after a report of an unwanted party at an establishment who was refusing to leave.  A 20 year old St. Thomas resident was the subject of this complaint and it was learned he was also wanted by STPS in relation to an assault and a breach of probation incident from last week.  They were arrested without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Building for processing.  He was later released with a future court date.

Early this morning Officers on Community Patrol were called to the area of Elm Street and Fairview Avenue in regards to a report that there was a person sitting in the intersection.  Officers located a 30 year old St. Thomas resident.  It was learned that there was a warrant for their arrest stemming from a theft investigation from last week.  They were arrested without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Building for processing.  They were later released with a future court date.

THEFTS

Yesterday afternoon Officers on Community Patrol were called to a Talbot Street business after they reported a shoplifting incident.  A male and female had left the store with various food items without paying.  They drove away in a white Nissan SUV and the plates were recorded.  The investigation is continuing.  ST23015819

Officers on Community Patrol attended a south end new home construction site after a home builder reported the theft of a work trailer and it’s contents.  On September 2nd at approximately 12:22 am, video surveillance shows a white/silver truck with a flatbed hook up to the trailer and drive away.  Stolen was a 2018 white American Motors 16 foot trailer, Ontario license plate R1091K.  Value of the trailer and it’s contents is approximately $11,000.   ST23015785
