Media Release Sunday December 24, 2023

Vehicle entry:

Sometime in the early morning hours of Thursday December 21, 2023 a vehicle was entered in the are of Princess avenue in St. Thomas.  Taken was money, Tim Hortons gift card and some baking utensils.  Anyone in the area with video or saw someone in the area please contact police at 519-631-1224 or Crime Stoppers.  ST23022317

Domestic Assault and Mischief:

On Friday December 22, 2023 police responded to a call for service for a female advising her boyfriend had assaulted her and punched her television.  Police have grounds for the arrest of the 25 year old male from St. Thomas.  ST23022327.

R.I.D.E:

Police conducted R.I.D.E spot checks where 200 vehicles were checked with 3 Approved Screening device demands made and 1 highway traffic warning was given.  Thankfully all who were spoken to by police were able to continue driving. ST23022356

Porch Theft:

Police were contacted by the victim on Friday December 22, 2023 in regards to a package that had been taken from their porch.  The victim lives in the area of Hill St. in St. Thomas.  Anyone with cameras in the area are asked to check to see if anyone suspicious was in the area during the day on Friday.  Anyone that is able to assist please contact police.  ST23022395

Theft:

Police attended the area of Hiawatha and St. Catherine St. for a report of stolen tires from a vehicle parked in the area.  Over the past two nights prior to Friday the victim had heard banging coming from the area.  Missing are 4 tires and rims that have a 5 bolt pattern on them. ST23022407

Theft:

On Saturday December 23, 2023 police attended a shelter in St. Thomas for a victim who had their cell phone stolen.  Police located video of the incident and recognized the suspect.  Police located the suspect and arrested the 47 year old male.  He was taken back to the St. Thomas Police Station and released with conditions and a future court date.  St23022516.

Warrant Arrest:

While on a call for service police located a male wanted on a probation warrant.  Police arrested the 25 year old male without incident.  The male was brought to the police station where he was late released with a future court date. ST23022417
