Intimate Partner Violence 

A 28 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested following the response to a disturbance involving a weapon on Sunday evening.

Just after 8:00 p.m., police responded to an address on Horton Street. Upon arrival, officers learned the accused allegedly threatened the victim while armed with a knife during an argument. As the victim attempted to leave the property, the accused also allegedly struck the victim with a fence gate.

Through further investigation, officers learned of historical violence involving the two individuals dating back to 2022.

As a result, the 28 year old has been charged with:

  • Three counts of Assault with a Weapon
  • Two counts of Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
  • Assault
  • Mischief

He was transported to police headquarters, processed and held to attend court and remanded into custody. ST26013229

Fail to Stop 

A 21 year old St. Thomas driver has received a speeding ticket and been educated on when to stop for police, following an incident that occurred Sunday afternoon while officers were conducting traffic enforcement in the city. ST26013202

Mischief 

St. Thomas police are investigating the report of damage caused to the lighting in the backyard of an address on Malakoff Street. On Sunday, the resident returned home after being away to the lights being damaged and cut. ST26013209

Warrant Arrest 

A 34 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested. On Sunday officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted by our service for Obstruct a Peace Officer, stemming from an incident in April. Once processed, he was released on an appearance notice to attend court. ST26013226

A 30 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested. On Sunday, while responding to the report of a theft that had occurred, the individual was located and arrested on an outstanding warrant stemming from a theft investigation from last week. Charged with Theft Under $5,000 the individual was transported to police headquarters, processed and held to attend court where he was remanded into custody. ST26012840/3208

Theft

STPS have received an online report of a theft that occurred from a retail store on Talbot Street. Video has been provided to police. ST26013207

A purse has been reported stolen from a downtown retail store. On Sunday, police were contacted after a customer had their purse stolen while in shopping. CCTV is available and has been provided to police. ST26013210

A wallet has been reported stolen from a vehicle. On Sunday, the victim attended police headquarters to report the incident. The bank cards in the wallet had been used at several locations in the city, following the theft. This remains under investigation. ST26013213
