Impaired Operation – Obstruct Police  

A 43 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested and charged following the investigation of a suspicious vehicle early Tuesday morning. Just before 2:00 a.m. police responded to a residential address after a homeowner reported an unfamiliar vehicle idling in their driveway.

Officers arrived and located two individuals asleep inside the running vehicle. An open container of alcohol and drug paraphernalia were observed inside.

The driver was awakened and displayed signs of impairment. An approved screening device test registered a pass for alcohol. The driver subsequently performed poorly during a Standard Field Sobriety Test and was arrested.

The accused was transported to police headquarters, where a Drug Recognition Expert conducted an evaluation and determined the driver was impaired by a drug. As a result of the investigation, the 43 year old has been charged with:

• Operation while Impaired (Alcohol or Drugs)
• Possession of a Schedule II substance
• Having care or control of a vehicle with cannabis readily available
• Having care or control of a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor

The 31 year old passenger was arrested and charged with obstructing police. Both individuals were processed at police headquarters and later released on an undertaking with future dates to attend court. ST26013333/3336

Warrant Arrest 

A 39 year old St. Thomas woman has been arrested. On Monday, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted by our service on an outstanding warrant after failing to attend her court ordered probation. The individual was transported to police headquarters and processed to attend court where she was remanded into custody. ST26013259/11289

A 59 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested. On Monday evening, the London Police Service requested we attend the address of the accused who had been charged by their service for Failure to Comply with Undertaking. STPS attended and processed the individual on behalf of the LPS. He was released on an appearance notice to attend court in London. ST26013309

Bail Violation 

A 34 year old St. Thomas woman has been arrested after police responded to an unwanted person call. On Monday, officers were called to attend a Talbot Street address to move along two individuals who were refusing to leave. Upon arrival, the 34 year old was located with an individual she is currently on release conditions to not communicate with. Charged with two counts of Failure to Comply with Undertaking she was transported to police headquarters, processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST26013271

Vehicle Entry

A vehicle on Isabel Street was reported entered in the early morning hours on Monday. Nothing of value was reported stolen and no damage to the vehicle was reported.
