Impaired Operation, Assault Police and Failure to Remain
A 37 year old Aylmer resident has been arrested. On Sunday April 14th 2024, police were called by the driver of a motorcycle who had just been hit by a vehicle while travelling on Wellington Street. The motorcyclist was able to provide police with a description of the vehicle and the direction it continued. Police attended the area and located the vehicle in question. Upon police arrival, the driver was found sitting outside of the vehicle with a child, who was a passenger of the vehicle. The child and the driver of the motorcycle were medically assessed with no injury reported. Through investigation, police determined the 37 year old to be impaired. The individual was transported to hospital to be medically assessed for injury, when they became combative and assaulted police. As a result, the Aylmer resident has been charged with one count Operation while Impaired – drugs or alcohol, Assault a Peace Officer, Fail to Comply with Probation Order, Operate Motor Vehicle without Insurance, Careless Driving and Failure to Stop after accident. Assault
A 59 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Sunday April 14th 2024, STPS were called to an address on the west end of the city to investigate the report of an assault. Through investigation, police learned that a verbal dispute had turned physical resulting in minor injuries. As result, the 59 year old St. Thomas resident was charged with one count of Assault and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. Warrant arrest
A 28 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Monday April 15th 2024, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for Breach of Probation. The individual was transported to police headquarters, where a search incident to arrest found the 28 year old to be in possession of a quantity of suspected opioid. The individual was additionally charged with two counts Possession of a Schedule Substance – Opioid, processed and held for court. ST24005947
