Warrant Arrests

On Saturday morning the STPS attended the Elgin Middlesex Detention Centre and executed a warrant for a 37 year old male. The male was being released from the detention centre and was currently wanted for Mischief Under $5000. The male was released on site with a future court date. ST24005834.

Later that morning, the London Police Service arrested a 35 year old female on the strength of a first instance warrant held by the STPS for Obstruct Peace Officer. The warrant was executed and the LPS released the female on behalf of the STPS with a future court date. ST24005842.

Child Pornography Arrest

On Saturday morning a 21 year old Orangeville man attended STPS headquarters to turn himself in on charges of Possession of Child Pornography and Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon. The male was taken into custody and processed in cells where he was held for a court appearance. The male was later released by the court with a future court date and conditions. ST24005835.

Shoplifters

Early on Saturday morning a male party attended a local grocery store and shoplifted several candy bars. The incident was captured on video surveillance and police are reviewing the footage to identify the suspect. ST24005837.

Later in the morning police located a 34 year old female in the downtown core that had been identified as the suspect in a shoplifting incident that occurred at a local grocery store on April 10th. The female was arrested without incident and transported to police headquarters where she was processed and later released with a future court date. ST24005849.

Early on Saturday afternoon police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle, whose registered owner was accused of shoplifting at a local business on April 11th. Police confirmed the owner was the driver and placed him under arrest without incident. The 52 year old male was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and later released with a future court date. ST24005856.

Theft

Later on Saturday morning a local resident had his trailer hitch stolen from the driveway of his residence near the downtown core. The trailer hitch was placed on the driveway for a few short moments while the resident walked around the corner to get his vehicle. When the resident returned, the trailer hitch was missing. Impaired Operation

Around the dinner hour on Saturday, a concerned citizen called police to report a male passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle in a parking lot downtown. Police arrived and observed the male asleep with his legs hanging outside of the vehicle and the rest of his body in the driver’s seat. Police conducted a Standardized Field Sobriety Test on the male and he performed poorly. The 27 year old was arrested for impaired operation of a conveyance and transported to police headquarters where was assessed by a Drug Recognition Evaluator. As a result of the evaluation the male was charged with impaired operation of a conveyance – alcohol and drugs – and was later released with a future court date. ST24005870.

Harassing Communications

On Saturday night, a St Thomas resident reported receiving unwanted communication from a 40 year old female. There had been several previous complaints made and the female was given warning by police to cease all communication. The female failed to cease contact and as a result, police have charged the female with one count of harassing communications. A warrant is being requested. ST24005878.

Intimate Partner Violence

On Saturday night members of the Strathroy Police Service arrested a male on two counts of domestic assault in relation to an incident that occurred in St. Thomas. The male was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and later released with a future court date. ST24005879.
