Impaired refusal
On December 27th 2024, STPS Officers attended an address on the south west end of the city for an unwanted party. At one point in the interaction, the individual got into a vehicle with the intention of leaving despite being warned against doing so as Officers had suspicion that the individual was impaired. The SFST (Standard field sobriety test) demand was read where the individual ultimately refused to comply and complete the tests. They were subsequently arrested and charged with refusal. Shoplift
STPS Officers were called to a store in the 1000 Block of Talbot Street for reports of a shoplift involving 3 youths. The males were observed stealing various food items before leaving the store in a burgundy SUV. Descriptions for the 3 suspects are as followed:
Male #1: Darker complexion, short hair, black puffy coat, red sweater, dark blue track pants.
Male #2: White, short hair, black puffy coat, grey sweatpants.
Male #3: White, short hair, black puffy coat, black pants.
The matter remains under investigation as Officers check video in the area looking to identify the males and vehicle involved.

Assault
Officers were called to attend a south end restaurant for an assault that occurred. Police learned that two individuals were having dinner when a dispute between them turned physical resulting in the female assaulting the male with cutlery. No injuries were sustained. Through investigation, Officers learned the the female was on conditions not to be around the male. A 47 yr old female was subsequently arrested and charged with assault with a weapon and 2 counts of fail to comply with probation. She was held for morning WASH court (Weekends and Statutory Holiday). The male has also been charged with party to the offence and a summons has been requested. ST24023244
Cause disturbance
In the late evening of December 27th, Officers attended a south end address for a male out of control outside a residence. The male was banging, screaming and swearing upon Police arrival. Following further Police interaction, the male was arrested and charged with cause disturbance. He was later released with a future court date. ST24023250
Warrant arrest
STPS Officers arrested a 30 yr old male on an outstanding warrant out of Huron OPP. The male was later released with a future court date. ST24023253
