VEHICLE ENTRY

Officers on Community Patrol attended an address on Hughes Street on January 12th after an unlocked vehicle, parked in the laneway, was entered sometime overnight.  Stolen was a red Milwaukee tool backpack, a gas meter, a multi reader tool and various screw drivers.  ST23000636.

SEXUAL ASSAULT

On January 12th Officers on Community Patrol were called to an address  on Princess Avenue after a citizen reported being sexually assaulted.  The incident occurred on January 11th in the evening hours in an apartment on Talbot Street.  As a result a 34 year old St. Thomas man was arrested without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor building for a court appearance.  He was charged with one count of sexual assault.  He was remanded in custody.

FRAUD

On November 4th a citizen had reported to Police that her wallet had been stolen from her vehicle, and numerous ID had been taken.  Yesterday she called Police to report that someone had used her name to open a credit card at Walmart and had made purchases over $800.  Video surveillance is being reviewed and the investigation is continuing.   ST23000644

BREAK & ENTER

Officers on Community Patrol attended a home on Royal Dornoch Street yesterday after it was reported that a vacant home had been entered.  Sometime between December 22nd and January 12th unknown person(s) entered the home and stole all the appliances, the furnace and a hot water heater.   ST23000659

DOMESTIC DISTURBANCES

On January 12th Officers on Community Patrol attended a Barnes Street address in regards to a domestic disturbance.  It was learned that the wife had been assaulted by her husband.  As a result a 32 year old St. Thomas man was arrested without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Building for processing.  He was charged spousal assault and was later released with a future court date.

On January 12th Officers on Community Patrol were called regarding a domestic disturbance that had occurred at an Arthur Avenue address earlier in the day.  Officers spoke to the female victim who had sought safety at a friends residence.  As a result a 33 year old St. Thomas man is charged with spousal assault, Failing to comply with his Release Order, his Undertaking and his Probation Order and a Warrant for his arrest was issued.  The victim did not require medical assistance.  ST23000682

MISCHIEF

Last night at approximately 8:50 pm members of the Community Resource Unit observed a 32 year old St. Thomas man punch their Police vehicle three times, causing a dent to the tailgate.  The male was arrested without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Building for processing.  He was charged with Mischief under $5,000 and was later released with a future court date.

SHOPLIFTING/WARRANTS

Officers on Community Patrol were called to Walmart yesterday at approximately 4:15 pm after Loss Prevention reported a shoplifter.  The male stole merchandise of a value of $310 and left the area in a vehicle where they were able to obtain the license plate number.  The vehicle was located and stopped on Malakoff Street.  A 37 year old male occupant in the vehicle matched the description of the thief and he was arrested without incident.  It was learned that he also had two Bench Warrants issued for his arrest.  He was transported to the Colin McGregor Building for processing.  He was charged with Theft under $5,000 and was held overnight for court this morning.  ST23000663

On January 8th Officers on Community Patrol attended the Real Canadian Superstore in regards to a shoplifter.  A female was observed by loss prevention concealing numerous items on her person.  She left the store with out paying, was confronted by Loss Prevention and returned a few items and then left the area.  A 32 year old St. Thomas woman was identified by Police from video surveillance.  A warrant for her arrest was issued for Theft under $5,000.  The value of stolen goods was $300.  ST23000430

WARRANT ARRESTS

On January 12th Officers on Community Patrol were called to an address on Mary Street in regards to an unwanted female, refusing to leave the premise.  Officers located a 33 year old St. Thomas woman who was wanted on two warrants.  She was arrested without incident and was released with a future court date.

Officers in the Community Resource Unit located a 46 year old St. Thomas woman in a downtown store yesterday afternoon.  The female had missed her court date.  She was arrested without incident and released with a future court date.

Officers in the Community Resource Unit located a 36 year old woman on Princess Avenue last night who was wanted on a Probation Warrant.  She was arrested without incident and was released with a future court date.
