Fraud
St. Thomas Police were called to a downtown business, when a bystander observed a 76-year-old St. Thomas resident buying thousands of dollars in gift cards. The bystander attempted to stop the individual from completing the transaction, to no avail. Police were able to follow up with the information, locate and determine that the victim believed the communication through Facebook was with a cousin, discussing a government grant, which was an investment scam. The victim had already given 5000$ to the scammer. ST24015193.

Fail to Comply/Arrest
St. Thomas Police attended a south side residence, for a report of an individual failing to comply with an Undertaking, for the 3rd time this week. The accused was on conditions to not attend that address. Police attended and arrested the 20-year-old St. Thomas resident. The accused was transported to Police Headquarters, held for a court appearance, and remanded into custody. ST24015127, ST24015152, ST24015265.
A 38-year-old St. Thomas resident was arrested for Failing to Comply with a release order, and Failing to Comply with an undertaking after breaching conditions to not be within 25m of an ex-partner. The accused attended Police Headquarters to turn themselves in, was processed, and held for a court appearance. ST24015317, ST24012768.
