Assault Investigation – 29 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged

Assault Investigation leads to charges (3/3)

At approximately 5:30 a.m. on Monday July 22nd 2024, St. Thomas police received multiple 911 calls in regard to an individual being assaulted by their partner and suffering from unknown injuries.

Upon arrival, police located the victim who had injuries to their face and lacerations to their arm which was caused by an altercation in the residence. Police were made aware that the suspect had left the area and was armed with a knife.

The suspect was located on the roof of a neighbouring house and after several hours, agreed to peacefully surrender to police.

As a result, a 29 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with:

  • Aggravated Assault
  • Assault
  • Break and Enter to commit offence

The individual was transported to police headquarters where they were processed, attended court and were remanded into custody. ST24012571

Update (2/3) – Monday July 22nd 2024 

A male party has been taken into custody after an active investigation regarding an assault that took place this morning.
The area of Hiawatha Street and Owaissa Street has been reopened.
Officers will remain in the area as they continue to investigate.
This is an isolated incident with no threat to public safety.
