Fail to Stop
On Wednesday, officers on community patrol observed a grey Chevrolet Silverado travelling westbound on Wellington Street without a front licence plate. Police attempted to stop the vehicle. The driver failed to stop and continued at a high rate of speed through an intersection, disregarding a stop sign and nearly colliding with another vehicle. The Silverado continued westbound exiting the city. In the interest of public safety, officers discontinued the pursuit. ST26015429
Impaired Operation
A 42 year old St. Thomas man has been charged following a collision involving a vehicle and an e-bike on First Avenue. Police responded to the collision just before 11 a.m. Wednesday. While speaking with the parties involved, officers were concerned the e-bike operator was impaired. A screening device was administered, registering a fail. Charged with one count of Operation while Impaired, 80 plus and three counts of Operation while Prohibited, the 42 year old was processed and released on an appearance notice with a future court date. Assault
Police responded to a downtown business on Wednesday after receiving the report of an assault. Police learned that a man had been asked to leave the property and an altercation followed. The involved parties were separated upon police arrival. The business owner requested the individual be formally trespassed from the property. ST26015439
A 35 year old man has been arrested following an assault on Elm Street. On Wednesday, police responded to the report of a man being punched and kicked by an unknown individual. No injuries were reported. While officers were investigating, the suspect returned to the area and was arrested. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed to attend court and subsequently remanded into custody. ST26015445
Mischief
An air conditioning unit has been reported removed and damaged. On Wednesday, police were contacted after the owner of the business located their air conditioner at the rear of their business on Talbot Street. Significant damage to the electrical box, cables and exterior of the building was found. The damage is believed to have occurred in the overnight hours on Tuesday into Wednesday. Damage to a Church on Hincks Street has been reported to police. Graffiti was found on the steps, Monday morning. Video surveillance is available and has been provided to police. ST26015441
Narcan Administered by Police
Shortly after midnight on Thursday August 13th, officers responded to the report of an unresponsive man. Two doses of naloxone had been administered before police arrived. Officers administered additional doses while providing emergency assistance. The man regained consciousness and was awake, breathing and speaking with paramedics before being transported to hospital for further care. ST26015488
Vehicle Entry
$3,500 of tools have been reported stolen from a work van parked on McGregor Court. Several drills, saws and batteries were reported stolen from the vehicle at some point in the overnight hours. ST26015448
Warrant Arrest
A 31 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested. On Wednesday, while dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter officers were made aware of a court order prohibiting him from communicating with the person police located him with. Charged with three counts of Failure to Comply with Probation, he was processed to attend court and was remanded into custody. ST26015452
Counterfeit Currency
A counterfeit $100 bill has been turned in to police. The bill is believed to have been received on August 9th at retail store on Talbot Street. It was collected and submitted into evidence. ST26015464
Theft
A 34 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested following an investigation into a stolen e-bike. On Wednesday evening, just after 8 p.m. police were called to investigate the report of an e-bike, valued at $4,000 being stolen from an address on Talbot Street. At 10:30 p.m. officers located and recovered the stolen e-bike in the area of Queen Street with the accused. Charged with Theft under $5,000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, the 34 year old was transported to police headquarters and held for court. ST26015478
$70 of merchandise was reported stolen from a retail store on Talbot Street. On Wednesday night, officers were called to the store after an unknown man had failed to pay for his items. The suspect was confronted by staff outside of the store and returned the merchandise. ST26015476
