Vehicle Entry/Theft:
On the evening of Friday the 31st of July, a St Thomas resident advised that her vehicle was entered during the day while parked at her place of employment sometime between the 28th and the 29th of July. Taken was approximately $125 worth of various goods, including sunglass, keys and change. A canvas of the area has been conducted for video of the incident and the matter is under investigation. Theft:
On Friday evening a local resident reported the theft of a 14-karat gold ring, with 7 diamonds, last seen inside her residence in a bedroom. The victim is compiling a list of parties that had been home inside the residence during the time frame and the matter is under investigation. Fraud:
Officers spoke with a local male after a friend called concerned that he was being scammed online as part of a crypto-currency investment scheme. Officers spoke with the potential victim, providing online safety tips and fraud prevention tips. At this time the male does not wish to involve police but is aware that an investigation could be launched on his request. Incident ST26014679

Fail to Stop:
On Friday night an officer conducting proactive patrols of the industrial area spotted a small grey hatch back driving in the distance with headlights or tail lights activated. The officer attempted to catch up with the vehicle, which then sped away at a high rate of speed. The officer did not pursue and called the incident into dispatch. Warrant Arrest:
On Saturday the 1st of August, 2026 We were on an unrelated call for service speaking with a 30-year-old male when officers learned there was currently grounds to arrest the male related to using a credit card stolen during a vehicle entry. The male had further been on probation with conditions not to possess a credit or debit card not issued in his name (Incident ST26012706). The male was arrested and held for weekend video court charged fraud under $5000.00, possession of property obtained by crime, use credit card not authorized, and five counts of breach of probation. That afternoon we were notified by members of the London Police Service that they had a 21-year-old male in custody on a warrant held by our service for food fraud related to leaving a local restaurant without paying (ST25017348). A release document with a future court date and conditions was sent to the London officers, who executed the warrant and released the male on our behalf. Incident ST26014732.
Robbery:
On Saturday night we were called to speak with a male and female who had been assaulted by a male known to them and money had been taken. Through investigation it was learned that the male victim had just cashed a cheque in his name when he had been approached by a 38-year-old male that was known to him. The suspect assaulted the victim and reached inside his pockets to steal the victim’s money. Attempts were made to locate the suspect, and a warrant is being sought for his arrest, charged with one count of Robbery. Incident ST26014764.
Shoplift:
On Saturday evening we were contacted by loss prevention at a local store who had attempted to stop a female from leaving the store without paying for approximately $300.00 in merchandise. Officers attended and located a 38-year-old female in the area known to officers and matching the description provided by loss prevention. The female was arrested, the product returned to the store, and she was later released with a future court date, charged theft under $5000.00. Incident ST26014767.
Impaired by drug:
On Saturday night were contacted by staff at St Thomas Elgin General Hospital who had advised that a patient had been asked to leave the hospital after become irate. Staff observed the patient in their vehicle in the parking lot, consuming pills out of a bottle, before they sped off in an unsafe manner. The vehicle was stopped by officers in the area who formed grounds to arrest the driver for impaired operation by drug. The 31-year-old female from London was brought to the station and performed poorly on a subsequent Drug Recognition Evaluation. They were later released with a future court date and the vehicle was impounded. Incident ST26014769.
