Break and Enter:
On Friday the 31st of August 2026 a homeowner in the south end of the city reported their garage entered overnight. The homeowner reported tool batteries missing as well as a laptop that was inside their vehicle. A canvass is being conducted of the area for video, and the matter is under investigation. On Friday we were contacted by a local resident who had their storage unit entered and a tablet as well as Dewalt tools stolen. CCTV footage was revealed and a 38-year-old female known to officers was observed entering the unit and taking the property. A warrant is being sought for the arrest of the female charged break and enter and theft. Incident ST26014649.
Shoplift:
On Friday we were contacted by loss prevention at a local store who had video of a male youth stealing product from in the store. The matter is currently under investigation. Incident ST26014640.
Vehicle Entry/Fraud:
On Friday morning a local resident reported their vehicle had been entered and credit/debit cards were stolen. The cards had been used at several locations, and while on the phone with the complainant officers were advised that the card was currently being used at another local store. Officers attended and located a 46-year-old male in the store who was arrested. The cards were located on his person search incident to arrest. The male was charged with fraud x3, used credit card not authorized, and possession or property obtained by crime and was held for court. Incident ST26014642.
Stolen Vehicle:
A male called police to advise he had been staying with a friend in the south end of the city when he awoke to find the vehicle missing. The vehicle was last seen at 12:30 am when parked on the street by the owner. The vehicle is a red 2014 Dodge Ram pickup, licence plate CH21928. Drug Trafficking/ Possession for the purpose:
On Friday afternoon members of our Street Crime Unit, working with uniform patrol arrested a 47-year-old man on trafficking fentanyl related to an overdose in our downtown core where the person survived after medical treatment (Incident ST26014053). Search incident to arrest the male party had more drugs on him which were seized and the male was charged accordingly with trafficking and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
