A 31 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested after police located him sleeping on a West Pearl Street property Tuesday morning. The man is bound by both an undertaking and a release order prohibiting him from attending the address. He was charged with Failure to Comply with Undertaking and Failure to Comply with Release Order and was held for court. ST26014411
A 31 year old St. Thomas man is wanted by police after he was reportedly observed at a St. George Street address Tuesday morning in breach of his release conditions. Officers reviewed surveillance footage showing the man entering a unit he is prohibited from attending. A warrant has been requested for one count of Failure to Comply with Release Order. ST26014415
Police are investigating a possible breach of a release order after receiving an alert that a 38 year old St. Thomas woman had entered a restricted area near a Talbot Street business Tuesday afternoon. The woman advised police she had attended a neighbouring business without realizing it was within the prohibited area and left after being notified. Theft
Approximately $1,500 worth of tools have been reported stolen from a vehicle. On Tuesday, police were contacted after a vehicle parked at a First Avenue address was entered sometime between 6 p.m. Monday and 6 a.m. Tuesday. ST26014400
A 32 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested after a wallet containing a credit card and health card was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on Princess Avenue Tuesday. The stolen credit card was used to make several purchases totaling more than $600. Officers reviewed surveillance footage from a local business and identified a suspect, who was located nearby. The stolen credit card and an item purchased with it were recovered. The man was charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card. He was processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST26014463
Police are investigating after approximately $200 worth of merchandise was reported stolen from a Talbot Street retail store Tuesday evening. Staff reported that a man selected luggage, a vacuum, bedding and other items before leaving through a side door without paying. The suspect is described as being in his 50s, bald and wearing a blue T-shirt, black jeans and a white medical mask. Video has been provided to police. ST26014462
Break and Enter
STPS attended a vacant residence on the west end of the city Tuesday morning to investigate the report of a suspicious person in the area. Upon arrival, officers located a side door of a residence that had been forced open. STPS K9 Unit searched the residence but no one was located inside. Fraud
Police are investigating after a St. Thomas resident lost more than $13,000 in an investment fraud. The victim had transferred the money to what they believed was an investment company operating out of China. Further transactions were attempted, but the victim’s bank identified the suspicious activity and locked the accounts before any additional funds were lost. ST26014432
