$10,000 worth of power tools and equipment have been reported stolen. On Monday, police were called to investigate the report of a break and enter that occurred at a Walnut Street construction site. It was reported that sometime between the afternoon of July 25th and the morning of July 27th, two locks were cut from a work trailer and the tools were stolen.
Surveillance footage shows two suspects entering the trailer at approximately 4:15 a.m. on July 27th and leaving with the tools. One suspect was wearing a green hoodie, black pants and red gloves and was pulling a wagon. The second was wearing a ball cap, black T-shirt, black pants and white gloves. Fraud
Police are investigating after a St. Thomas resident lost $2,500 in an online fraud. The victim located a website advertising a vehicle engine and communicated with an individual claiming to represent the business. After agreeing to the purchase, the victim sent an e-transfer but never received the engine. The victim later discovered the company had blocked further communication and the website was no longer active. ST26014361
Failure to Comply
A 39 year old man and 34 year old woman are facing charges after being observed together twice within a 24 hour period. Officers observed the pair, known to be on conditions to not communication with each other, downtown on Monday evening. The man is charged with Failure to Comply with a Recognizance and the woman is facing a related party to the offence charge. ST26014363
Theft
$400 of merchandise has been reported stolen from a Talbot Street retail store. On Monday evening at 6:15 p.m., an unknown man concealed several personal care, clothing and food items before leaving the store without making any attempt to pay. The suspect was wearing a New York Yankees hat, grey sweater, black backpack, black shorts and white shoes. He was last seen leaving the area on a bicycle. Video has been provided to police.
