Vehicle Entries:
On Friday the 10th of July we received a report of a vehicle entry north of the downtown core. An Easton baseball bat valued at $150.00 was stolen out of an unlocked vehicle overnight. The theft is under investigation. Incident ST26013002.
Fraud:
On Friday we took a report from a local resident that his credit card information had been used to make several large purchases in Quebec without his knowledge, totaling over fourteen thousand dollars. Officers are working with the credit card company and will be gathering evidence from the involved businesses. Incident ST26013011.
Another local resident reported that overnight his credit card information was used for make a forty-one-dollar purchase online without his knowledge. The male had cancelled his card and will be dealing with his bank regarding refunding his money. The matter is under investigation. Incident ST26013032.
Shoplift:
On Friday a downtown business reported a male had left the store without paying for items. Video was reviewed and the 45-year-old male was identified by officers. The store owner was not seeking charges but the male was located and verbally trespassed from the store. Incident ST26013022.
On Friday evening we were contacted by a grocery store regarding a male that had take personal products and food and left without paying for the items. The male was located a short distance away and the products were recovered. The 32-year-old male was arrested and released with a future court date, charged with theft under $5000.00. On Friday night we were contacted by a convenience store regarding a female that had hidden approximately $90.00 of alcohol in her bag before leaving without paying. Video is being obtained and the matter is under investigation. Incident ST26013069.
Warrant Arrest:
On Friday we were notified by security at the London Courts that there was a female in custody at court that had an existing bench warrant held by our service (ST23017949). Officers attended the London Court House and arrested the 39-year-old female on the existing warrant. The female was released at courts with conditions and a future court date. Incident ST26013022.
Food Fraud:
On Friday afternoon we were contacted by a local restaurant regarding a female patron who had been acting odd towards other customers before leaving without paying her bill for food and drinks. The female is described as black, mid-thirties with long dark hair. Video is being obtained and the matter is under investigation. Incident ST26013033.
Theft of E-bike:
On Friday night we were contacted by a male who had been in the court house area when his red Phoenix E-bike was stolen. The e-bike has a banana seat. R.I.D.E Program:
On Friday night officers on shift conducted a RIDE program in the city. We are pleased to announce that no alcohol related infractions or impaired drivers were observed. Incident ST26013073.
