Thefts

St. Thomas Police are investigating the theft of tools from a truck overnight. The incident took place on the city’s south side. The complainant reported the tools stolen, totaled $3000, and were in a teal-coloured Makita bag. Shortly after this call, Police were advised by security, property matching this description was located in the downtown area. All tools were confirmed to be from the reported theft, and returned to the owner. Video is being reviewed, and the incident is still under investigation. ST26012930

Two youth reported their bike, and electric scooter stolen from a retail plaza in the city’s east end. The bike is described as blue sims bike, and a black and red electric scooter. A vehicle in the area was observed and may be involved. St. Thomas Police are still investigating, and video is being reviewed. ST26012982

Stolen Vehicle

St. Thomas Police are investigating a report of a stolen vehicle. A 2007 grey GMC Sierra was parked on the street, in a residential area, on the city’s south side overnight. The owner observed the vehicle at 11pm before bed, and noticed it stolen at 9:30am yesterday morning. The incident is still under investigation, while a video canvass is conducted. ST26012934

Intimate Partner Violence Arrest

On July 7th, Officers responded to a 911 call, for a female screaming for help, on the city’s south side. The witness observed the female being followed by a male and called police. Police attended the area and located a female, but the male was gone on arrival. Investigation continued, and as a result, a 36-year-old St. Thomas male, who was on conditions already to not communicate with the female, was charged with Spousal Assault, Criminal Harassment, 2 counts of Failing to Comply with his Release Order, and a warrant was requested. On July 9th, the male was arrested, transported to Police Headquarters for processing, and held for a court appearance. ST26012767, ST26012937

Assault Cause Bodily Harm

Special Constables on patrol in the downtown core, located an individual suffering from a head wound. EMS was contacted and the individual was transported to hospital for treatment. Investigation revealed that a 57-year-old St. Thomas resident was responsible, and a short time later, was located by the K9 unit. The individual was arrested for Assault Cause Bodily Harm, transported to Police Headquarters for processing, and held for a court appearance. ST26012948

Warrant Arrest

Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (R.O.P.E) unit attended an address in St. Thomas and arrested a 34-year-old St. Thomas resident on the strength of a warrant for Failing to Comply with a Release Order. The individual was transported to Police Headquarters for processing, and held for a court appearance. ST26012953, ST26012479

A 31-year-old Waterloo resident has been arrested on an outstanding warrant for Use of Credit Card not authorized. The incident took place earlier in the month, when the complainant reported a prepaid financial card was stolen, and multiple transactions had taken place. The individual was transported to Police Headquarters for processing, and later released with a future court date. ST26012959, ST26012439

Arrest in Assault Investigation

On the 8th of July, 2026 Police attended a downtown establishment for a report of and assault. A patron had assaulted staff, after being asked to leave the premises for being belligerent. A 61-year-old St. Thomas resident has attended the station to turn themselves in. The individual was charged with Assault with a weapon, arrested, processed at Police Headquarters, and released with a future court date. ST26012890

Fail to Comply

St. Thomas Police were called to a residence on the city’s south side. Complainant reported that there were two unwanted individuals on the property. Upon arrival, the two individuals were identified, and one was on conditions not to associate with the other. As a result, a 28-year-old St. Thomas resident was charged with Failing to Comply with a Release Order, and transported to Police Headquarters for processing. The individual was held for a morning court appearance. ST26012979

Mischief in Intimate Partner Violence

St. Thomas Police attended a residence on the city’s north side for a domestic incident. Upon Police arrival, one of the individuals had left on foot. Investigation revealed that property was damaged during the disturbance. A 46-year-old was located nearby and arrested for Domestic Mischief. The individual was transported to Police Headquarters for processing, and later released with a future court date. ST26012995
