Update – Fire on Queen Street

No injuries were reported after a fire at an apartment on Queen Street, Sunday night. STPS attended and assisted the St. Thomas Fire Department who safely extinguished the fire and evacuated all residents. The fire has been deemed non-suspicious. ST26012678

Intimate Partner Violence

A 33 year old St. Thomas woman has been charged with Assault, Uttering Threats and Mischief after police were called to a disturbance at a residence on Morrison Drive, Sunday evening. Through investigation, officers learned the accused had caused damaged inside the residence and assaulted their partner during a verbal argument that had turned physical. She was transported to police headquarters, processed and held to attend court. ST26012687

Break and Enter

St. Thomas police are investigating a break and enter that occurred at a retail store on Talbot Street, early this morning. Just after 2 a.m. police were called to the address after the owner of the business was notified by their security company that an individual was seen on camera and the front door had been smashed. Upon arrival, officers located the broken door and cleared the business. This remains under investigation. ST26012692

Warrant Arrest

A 37 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested. On Sunday, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted by our service on an outstanding warrant stemming from a trespass incident earlier this year. He was transported to police headquarters and held for court. ST26012660

Mischief

St. Thomas police are investigating the report of damaged caused to a vehicle that was parked on Ambrosia Drive. On Sunday the owner of the vehicle called to report eggs had been cracked and smeared all over his car. This remains under investigation. ST26012650

RIDE

Of the vehicles stopped and the drivers spoken to during a RIDE event in the city Sunday night, STPS are pleased to report no infractions were found. Thank you for continuing to drive safe and sober. ST26012645

Theft

A wallet has been reported stolen from a vehicle on Locust Street. On Sunday, police were contacted after the victim was made aware of fraudulent charges on their debit and credit cards. The victim became aware that their vehicle had been entered overnight and the wallet stolen. This remains under investigation. ST26012648

A St. Thomas teen has been charged with Theft under $5,000 after police were called to a shoplifting incident at a retail store on Talbot Street, Sunday evening. It was reported that the individual had failed to pay for a set of earbuds. Once processed, the teen was released. ST26012665
