Arrest Made in Sexual Assault InvestigationĀ
A St. Thomas resident charged with Sexual Assault, Assault and Extortion has been arrested. On Tuesday, the accused was located at their residence and taken into custody. Additionally charged with two counts of Sexual Assault with a Weapon, two counts of Sexual Assault Cause Bodily Harm, Assault with a weapon, Voyeurism and two counts of Disobey Court Order in relation to the ongoing investigation, the individual was transported to police headquarters, processed and held for a morning court appearance. Disqualified Driver Arrested Following Traffic Stop
A 47 year old St. Thomas man is facing multiple charges after a traffic stop in the city last night. The driver was found to be prohibited from operating a motor vehicle under both the Criminal Code and the Highway Traffic Act.

The vehicle was impounded for 90 days.

Assault Investigation
St. Thomas police are currently investigating an assault that occurred in the city last night. Officers attended an address near police headquarters to assist paramedics with an individual who had significant injuries. Through investigation, officers learned the victim had been assaulted by multiple people before being able to seek assistance. This remains under investigation. ST26002825
Warrant Arrest
A 39 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested. On Tuesday, while dealing with the individual on an unrelated call for service officers were made aware of an outstanding warrant for arrest stemming from a shoplifting incident in January. FraudĀ
St. Thomas police are currently investigating the report of fraudulent use of benefits. On Tuesday, the victim contacted police after speaking with their benefit company in relation to several benefit statements for services they hadn’t used. More than $3,000 in coverage had been claimed under the victims account. This remains under investigation. ST26002766
Theft
A bottle of liquor has been reported stolen from a retail store on Talbot Street. On Tuesday while reviewing in store CCTV, an employee contacted police after video captured the incident. The video has been provided to police. ST26002776
Copper wire has been reported stolen from an address on Wellington Street. On Tuesday, officers were called to the address by an employee who wished to report finding damage to an exterior air conditioning unit with the copper removed. Video is available and being provided to police. ST26002784
Shoplifting
St. Thomas police are investigating separate shoplifting incidents that occurred on Tuesday.
The first incident reports an unknown male failing to pay for a basket groceries from a retail store on Talbot Street. ST26002811
