RIDE
Two RIDE programs were conducted in the city last night. Four drivers asked to provide breath samples, all resulted in a PASS. Three warnings were issued under Highway Traffic Act. Of the 200 vehicles stopped and drivers spoken to, no other infractions were found. The STPS thanks the community for continuing to drive safe and sober. ST26002224
Bail Violations
A 30 year old St. Thomas woman has been arrested after officers attended the address the individual was to be living at as per their court ordered release. Officers learned the accused wasn’t present and hasn’t been residing at the address. The 30 year old was located downtown on Sunday and taken into custody. Charged with Failure to Comply with Release Order, she was transported to police headquarters, processed and held to attend court. ST26002225
Mischief
Damage to an office building on St. Catharine’s Street has been reported to police. On Sunday, police were called to the address after an employee of one of the businesses found their door to be smashed and several offices entered. CCTV in the area is being reviewed as this remains under investigation. ST26002232
7-day Suspension
On Sunday evening, police received a report from a concerned citizen of a vehicle entering the city at varying speeds and unable to maintain its lane. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. An Approved Screening Device (ASD) demand was made, and the driver registered an ALERT. A 7-day licence suspension was issued, and the vehicle was released to a sober driver. ST26002227
Intimate Partner Violence
A 20 year old St. Thomas woman has been charged with Assault after police were called at a disturbance at an address on the northside of the city, Sunday night. Upon arrival, officers learned the accused had assaulted their partner during an argument. The 20 year old was transported to police headquarters, processed and later released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST26002235
