Project Home Safe

St. Thomas, ON – Monday December 1st 2025

The St. Thomas Police Service is announcing the launch of ‘Project Home Safe’ a dedicated impaired driving enforcement team to operate throughout December.

As we approach the holiday season, impaired driving continues to be one of the most preventable threats to road safety in our community. December consistently brings increased alcohol and drug-related driving incidents, placing greater pressure on frontline resources.

To enhance visibility, strengthen deterrence, and provide focused enforcement during this high-risk period, the St. Thomas Police Service is launching Project Home Safe, a dedicated impaired driving and RIDE enforcement team.

Every Driver. Every Ride. Home Safe.  Our goal is simple: ensure that everyone gets home safely during this holiday season.

Project Home Safe’s primary mandate includes:

  • Proactive RIDE operations.
  • Targeted impaired driving enforcement.
  • Contributing to broader road safety efforts during the holiday season.

The St. Thomas Police Service thanks the community for helping keep our roads safe and encourages all residents to make responsible choices and to drive sober.
