Impaired Operation

A 61 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested and charged after police were called to a collision on Wednesday afternoon. Just before 3 p.m. we were called to an address on First Avenue to investigate the report of a minor collision involving two vehicles. Upon arrival, officers located the parties involved and while speaking with the driver of one of the vehicles, police were concerned they were showing signs of impairment. The 61 year old was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters where they were charged with Operation while Impaired – Alcohol or Drug and Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand. The individual was processed and later released with a future court date. No injuries were reported as a result of the collision. ST25013005

Warrant Arrest

A 42 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday morning, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on several outstanding charges dating back to the beginning of the year. The individual had been charged with Theft under $5,000, Break and Enter and Failure to Comply with Release Order. The 42 year old was processed and released on an appearance notice with a future court date. ST25012978

A 51 year old St. Thomas resident charged with Assault has been arrested.  On Wednesday, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in. The individual had been charged after an incident on the city’s southside, Saturday evening. They were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25013012

Fraud

A 62 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with Fraud after we were called to a local retail store on Wednesday. Through investigation, officers learned the 62 year old had used a fraudulent bar code while scanning merchandise at a self check out in the store. A warrant for arrest has been requested. Theft

$30 of merchandise has been reported stolen from a downtown convenience store. Last night, we were called to the store to investigate the report of an unknown person failing to pay for a 12-pack of coolers. STPS are reviewing available video in an effort to identify the person responsible. ST25013040
