Drug Offences
A 35 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with Possession of a Schedule I substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl and Possession of a Schedule I substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine. While in custody on an unrelated matter, a search incident to arrest found the individual to be in possession of approximately $4,900 of drugs. The 35 year old was remanded into custody following a court appearance on Monday. ST25010782/0787
Arson, Break & Enter
We are currently investigating a break and enter incident and fire that occurred at a business in the 600 block of Talbot Street. On Monday morning, we were called to the address after St. Thomas Fire had extinguish a pile of renovation garbage that had been set on fire inside of the building. Through investigation, evidence of forced entry was found and damage to electrical wiring could be seen throughout the building in what appeared to be an attempt to remove copper wire. No injuries were reported and no other damage to surrounding buildings was found. This remains under investigation as we review available CCTV. ST25010771
Break and Enter
At 1:00 a.m. this morning, we responded to an alarm call at a business in the industrial area of the city. Upon arrival, an insecure door was located with visible signs of damaged caused in an effort to gain entry to the building. Mischief
A window at a vacant apartment building on Elm Street has been reported damaged. On Monday, we were called to the address after a concerned citizen reported seeing an unknown individual trying to gain entry to the building by breaking the window. This remains under investigation. ST250010730
Two seats have been reported stolen from a vehicle parked on Sunset Drive. On Monday, the property owner contacted STPS to report that at some point in the overnight hours, their property had been entered that the seats removed from a vehicle. ST25010799
A City of St. Thomas pick up truck, parked at an address on Wellington Street has been reported damaged. The vehicle sustained damage to the tailgate and exhaust while it was parked over the weekend. This remains under investigation. ST25010783
Staff from a business in the 700 block of Talbot Street called police to report an unknown individual was on the property attempting to cause damage to the exterior of the building by lighting the grass on fire. The individual left the area when approached by staff. CCTV of the incident is being reviewed in an attempt to identify the individual. ST25010806
Theft
$30 of merchandise has been reported stolen from a downtown grocery store. On Monday, we were called to the store after an individual described as wearing a ball cap, light coloured t-shirt and a backpack, failed to pay for the items. This remains under investigation. ST25010733
$80 in fuel has been reported stolen from two commercial vehicles. On Monday, we were called to a business in the 1200 block of Talbot Street to investigate the report of the fuel being removed from two vehicles. Through investigation, officers learned CCTV of the property captured two unknown individuals drilling holes in the vehicles to access the fuel. Total damage is reported at $1,200. This remains under investigation by our Property Crime Unit. ST25010780
Warrant Arrest
A 49 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Monday, we attended the Elgin Middlesex Detention Center to take custody of the individual who was wanted by our service on an outstanding Small Claims Court warrant. The individual was transported to the Elgin County Court House to attend court and was subsequently released by the courts. ST25010786/0007

Fraud
A local resident is out $1,100 after noticing fraudulent transaction on their credit card. On Monday, the victim contacted police to report that their card had been used to purchase various items that were delivered to an address in Toronto. This remains under investigation. ST25010832
