Assault

We are currently investigating the report of an assault that occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday June 21st. Just before 1 a.m. police attended an apartment on the northside of the city with paramedics after receiving a 9-1-1 call. Through investigation it was learned an apartment had been entered and the tenant had been assaulted by an unknown individual. No injuries were reported. This remains under investigation. ST25010626

A 52 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with Assault after a dispute between neighbours was reported to STPS. On Sunday, we attended a northside address after an individual called to report they had been assaulted after a verbal altercation over the theft of a package had escalated resulting in their neighbour physically assaulting them. A warrant for arrest has been requested. ST25010731

Intimate Partner Violence

A 37 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after an assault was reported to police. On Saturday, the victim attended police headquarters to report that an argument with their spouse that occurred Friday night had escalated, resulting in a physical altercation and damage to property. Through investigation police formed grounds to charge the 37 year old with Mischief, Assault and Assault with a Weapon. On Sunday, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on the outstanding charges. They were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25010666/0748

A 37 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after their spouse attended police headquarters to report they had been assaulted. On Sunday evening, the victim reported a verbal altercation with their spouse had escalated resulting in a physical assault and the accused not allowing the victim to leave. No injuries were reported. Through investigation, the 37 year old accused was charged with Assault with a Weapon, Assault, Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm and Forcible Confinement. This morning, police attended an address on the northside of the city to arrest the individual. They were transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST2501740

Assault with a Weapon 

A 35 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after being identified as the person responsible in an assault that took place at a southside park. On Sunday, the victim contacted police to report the individual who had sprayed them in the face with pepper spray on Saturday, had returned to the area. We attended the park and located the 35 year old accused who was then charged with:

  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Administer Noxious Substance
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon x 2
  • Possession of Firearm or Weapon contrary to Prohibition x 2
  • Failure to Comply with Probation Order x 6
  • Failure to Comply with Release Order.

The individual was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and held for a morning court appearance. ST25010749

Failure to Comply

A 36 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with Disobeying Order of Court and Failure to Comply with Release Order after we attended a disturbance in a local park on Sunday evening. Through investigation it was learned the 36 year old is currently on release conditions to not associate with one of the individuals involved in the disturbance. A warrant for arrest has been requested. ST25010747

Break and Enter Investigations

Two St. Thomas residents have been arrested after we were called to a break and enter incident in the 600 block of Talbot Street, Sunday afternoon. Upon arrival, we located the individuals inside a building currently under renovation. As a result, a 35 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with Break and Enter and Theft under $5,000 and a 34 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with Break and Enter. Both individuals were transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released with future court dates. ST25010719

A vehicle and garage have been reported entered at an address on Arthur Avenue. Several tools and wire have been reported stolen with damage caused to the vehicle and garage. Cameras in the area are being reviewed as we continue to investigation. ST25010709

A 41 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested and a 42 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged after police were called to a break and enter in progress at a business on Queen Street Sunday morning. Upon arrival, we located the 41 year old leaving the area with break and enter tools in their possession. They were arrested and charged with Break and Enter and Possess Break In Instruments. The 42 year old was later identified via review of CCTV and has subsequently been charged with the same offences. A warrant for their arrest has been requested. ST25010713

A storage shed located at a business on Edward Street has been reported damaged and entered. Reported stolen was ‘Greenworks’ brand weed trimmer, still in its box. CCTV is being reviewed as we continue to investigate. ST25010715

Theft

Gardening tools, sunscreen and water bottles have been reported stolen from a garden center on Talbot Street. On Sunday morning, we were contacted by an employee who wish to reported that at some point in the overnight hours the fenced garden center had been entered and the items stolen. This remains under investigation. ST25010718

Mischief

A 16 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with Mischief after damage to a pick up truck was reported to police. On Sunday, the vehicle owner contact police to report the side mirrors of the truck had been ripped off. The 16 year old was identified as the person responsible and subsequently charged. ST25010720
