A 46 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with Failure to Comply with Undertaking after police were contacted on Sunday. Through investigation, officers learned the accused, who is on conditions not to contact or communicate with a specific individual, had made several attempts to speak with them. As a result, the 46 year has been charged and a warrant for arrest has been requested. ST25001471
Assault
A 38 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with two counts of Assault after police were called to check on the wellbeing of a child. On Sunday evening, police attended an address in the city to investigate the report of a child who had been been assaulted. Upon arrival, police learned the child had sustained minor injury after being physically assaulted by their parent. The victim was safely removed from the address. Intimate Partner Violence
A 57 year old is St. Thomas resident has been charged with two counts of Assault and Failure to Comply with Probation after police were called to an address on Talbot Street, Sunday evening. Upon arrival, officers located the victim who reported being struck several times by their partner. Through investigation, police learned the accused is bound by several conditions to not communicate with victim. A warrant for arrest has been requested. ST25001505
Arson
St. Thomas police are currently investigating an arson that caused a major power outage, early this morning. Just after 2 a.m. police were called to the area of Sunset Drive and Talbot Street by St. Thomas Fire and Entegrus who wished to report as suspicious fire. Officers were shown to a hydro pole that had been burned and the main conduit, tampered with. No injuries were reported and power was restored a short time later. This remains under investigation.
