Assault Police

A 28 year old Southwold resident has been arrested after a disturbance in the city, yesterday afternoon. On Tuesday July 30th 2024, officers were called to an address on Myrtle Street to investigate the report of an unknown person causing damage to property in the area. Police attended the address and located the individual in question, who had caused significant damage to a vehicle. The 28 year old was combative with police and spat on an officer during their arrest. As a result, the individual has been charged with Assault Peace Office, Mischief, Fail to Comply with Probation Order and Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance. The 28 year old was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and held for a morning court appearance. ST24013229

Warrant Arrests

A 42 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday July 30th 2024, officers were called in regard to an unwanted person. Upon arrival, police located an individual known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with our service for Theft under $5,000 stemming from an incident earlier this month. A search incident to arrest found the individual to be in possession of a Schedule 1 Substance. As a result, the 42 year old was additionally charged with one count of Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance. The individual was processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. A 32 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday July 30th 2024, officers were called to check on the well being of an individual. Upon arrival, police located a person known to them to be wanted by our service for Break and Enter and two counts of Failure to Comply with Probation stemming from an incident at the same address earlier this month. The 32 year old was arrested and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and held for a morning court appearance. ST24013250

Vehicle Entry

A purse containing a wallet with person identification and bank cards has been reported stolen. On Tuesday July 30th 2024, officers were called to investigate a vehicle entry that occurred at an address on South Edgeware Road. No damage to the vehicle was reported.
