Theft
A 38 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Sunday May 26th 2024, STPS were called to a grocery store on Talbot Street to investigate the report on an unknown individual leaving the store with approximately $900 of merchandise. Police attended and located the individual on the property of the store. When police attempted to speak with the individual, they fled the area on foot. After a short pursuit, the 38 year old was arrested and transported to police headquarters where they were charged with one count of Theft under $5,000, Obstruct Police and three counts of Failure to Comply with Release Order. St. Thomas police are currently investigating the theft of lottery tickets. On Friday May 24th 2024, officers were called to investigate the incident that occurred the previous day. It was learned that an unknown person attended a gas station on the north side of the city and while the retail employee was assisting another customer, the individual gained access to the lottery tickets and took approximately $100 worth of tickets. Officers are reviewing available video surveillance as they continue to investigate. ST24008507
Approximately $30 of premade drink mix has been reported stolen. On Friday May 24th 2024, St. Thomas police were called to a north end restaurant to investigate the report. Upon arrival, officers learned an unknown individual attended the business and took two bags of merchandise. Police are reviewing available video surveillance of the incident as they continue to investigate. ST24008515
A 47 year old St. Thomas resident is wanted by police after being identified as the person responsible for a theft that occurred from a grocery store on Talbot Street. On Sunday May 26th 2024, STPS were called to the store to investigate the report of an unknown individual leaving the store with over $150 of merchandise they hadn’t paid for. Officers were able to review video of the individual and positively identify them. As a result, the 47 year old has been charged with one count of Theft under $5,000. Warrant Arrest
A 51 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Sunday May 26th 2024, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant with our service for one count of Theft under $5,000 stemming from a shoplifting incident that occurred earlier this month. The individual was processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST24008651
