Theft

$400 worth of merchandise has been reported stolen. On Friday October 6th 2023, STPS were called by staff of a retail store on Talbot Street who wished to report that on October 2nd 2023, an unknown person wearing a black construction style jacket entered the store, selected the items and continued to the self check out area failing to scan or pay for the items. This remains under investigation. ST23017825

A vehicle’s front license plate has been reported stolen. On Monday October 9th 2023, St. Thomas police were called by the vehicle owner who reported that sometime between October 6th and October 9th, the plate had been removed. This remains under investigation ST23017928

$100 worth of gas has been reported stolen. On Sunday October 8th 2023, STPS were called by an employee of a gas station on Sunset Drive who reported that just before 7 p.m. the driver of pick up truck is captured on video pumping the gas and failing to pay. When leaving, the license plate was captured and was proven to not belong to the truck it was attached to. Below is a photo of the suspect. Mischief

Damage to a retail store on White Street has been reported to police. On Saturday October 7th 2023, St. Thomas police were called by a concerned citizen who reported that the door of the building had been damage with spray paint. STPS contacted the owners of the building who were unaware the damage had occurred while they were closed for the long weekend. Police continue to investigate. ST23017881

The back window of a vehicle that was parked at a northside home has been reported damaged. On Sunday October 8th, STPS were called to the area by a guest staying at the home who reported that after returning to their car, a small hole in the glass of the back window was found. Once the vehicle was driven, the glass completely cracked requiring it to be replaced. ST23017919

Vehicle Entry 

A wallet containing personal identification and bank cards has been reported stolen to police. On Monday October 9th 2023, STPS we called to investigate the theft that occurred from a vehicle on the southside of the city. It was reported that sometime in the overnight hours the vehicle was entered and the wallet, stolen. This remains under investigation. ST23017964

Break and Enter 

A Chromebook valued at approximately $520 has been reported stolen. On Monday October 9th 2023, St. Thomas police were called by a resident of an apartment building who reported that sometime between  7 a.m. and 8 a.m. their apartment had been entered and the Chromebook taken. STPS are reviewing available video surveillance and continue to investigate. ST23017973

Stolen Vehicle 

A White 2007 Ford Econoline cube van has been reported stolen from a business on Talbot Street.  On Monday October 9th 2023, St. Thomas police were called to investigate the theft that occurred after 9 p.m. the night before. The van contains numerous tools and equipment used by the business with an approximate value of $100,000.  If you see the vehicle in the image below bearing the “Roto-Static” logo on the side, please contact St. Thomas Police at 519-631-1224 or 911.
