**6.5 Year Sentence For St. Thomas Man Convicted of Drug and Firearm Offences**
On Monday January 9th, 2022, Kyle Moir was found guilty of a multitude of charges from arrests made in 2020. Moir was part of a lengthy investigation by the St. Thomas Police Street Crime Unit, which culminated in a search warrant at his downtown apartment. As a result of the search warrant, the Street Crime Unit seized approximately $60,000 worth of drugs and cash, along with multiple guns and ammunition.
Moir was found guilty of the following offences:
Count 2 – Possession of unauthorized firearm
Count 3 – Possession of unauthorized firearm
Count 4 – Possession of unauthorized firearm
Count 5 – Possession of a firearm while prohibited
Count 8 – Fail to comply with release order
Count 10 – Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm
Count 11 – Possession of a prohibited device
Count 12 – Possession of a prohibited device
Count 17 – Fail to comply with release order
With the conviction last Monday, Moir has been sentenced to 6.5 years in custody.
