Message from Chair Reith:
Oversight is the role of the Police Services Board (PSB). Oversight of budget, actions of the Chief and the provision of adequate and effective policing in our community. Our board is unanimous in the mission of ensuring a progressive community policing model through a conscious committed partnership with mental health professionals and community groups making our service able to respond to societal issues without forsaking the needs of the survivors of crime. We are focused on ensuring that our service members are well-equipped to meet the physical and mental challenges they are faced with every day. We are aligned with the Chief of Police and his blueprint for building-up the resiliency of service members as they deliver core regulatory and legislative functions to our community. We are excited at the range of initiatives that are underway within our service, and we are doing it with fiscal prudence and an eye to reducing harm and improving well-being for all. As Chair of the PSB, I am proud to be apart of our board and this exciting organization.
