Warrant arrest 

A 34 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday April 23rd 2024, officers were dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter when they became of an outstanding warrant with our service for an assault charge dating back to 2021. The individual was arrested and transported to police headquarters where they were processed to attend court. ST24006439

A 32 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday April 23rd 2024, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted by our service on an outstanding warrant for mischief stemming from an incident in December of 2023. The 32 year old was arrested and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and held for a morning court appearance. ST24006479

A 28 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday April 23rd 2024, officers located the individual known to them to be wanted by our service on outstanding charges related to an incident in March. The individual was arrested and additionally charge with two counts of Failure to Comply with Probation Order, Fail to Comply with Release Order and Theft under $5,000. The 28 year old was transported to police headquarters where they processed and held for a morning court appearance. ST24006478/6481

Theft

Approximately $200 of merchandise has been reported stolen from a retail store on Talbot Street. On Tuesday April 23rd 2024, police were called to the store by loss prevention staff who wish to report that two unknown individuals attended the store, shopped for various items and then left the store, failing to pay. St. Thomas police are investigating a theft that occurred from a retail store on Talbot Street. On Tuesday April 23rd 2024, officers were called by store staff who wished to report an unwanted person, shoplifting. The individual had left the area prior to police arrival. Officers reviewed video surveillance of the incident and identified an individual, known to them as a 34 year old St. Thomas resident. This remains under investigation. ST24006465

A second tablet valued at $250 has been reported stolen from a downtown restaurant. On Tuesday April 23rd 2024, police were called in regards to the theft. It was reported that for the second time, an unknown individual entered the establishment and removed the device from the hostess area. Video surveillance of the incident is being reviewed as police continue to investigate. ST24006456

Vehicle entry 

A purse and wallet have been reported stolen from a vehicle on Roseberry Place. On Tuesday April 23rd 2024, the vehicle owner contacted police to report the incident. Officers learned that sometime in the overnight hours an unknown person attended the area and removed the purse and wallet that contained several pieces of identification, bank cards and credit cards. No damage to the vehicle was reported. ST24006441

A vehicle key and fob have been reported stolen. On Tuesday April 23rd 2024, officers were called to investigate the incident that occurred the evening prior from an address on Opechee Street. It was reported that sometime in the overnight hours, a vehicle was entered and the key and fob stolen. No damage to the vehicle was reported. ST24006443

Romance scam 

A local resident is out approximately $50,000 after falling victim to an online romance scam.  Over the course the last 4 years, the victim had engaged in an online relationship. Over the course of the last several months, the victim purchased and sent multiple apple gift cards and made several bitcoin transfers to the individual they believed they were a relationship with. This remains under investigation. ST24006453

Failure to comply

A 47 year old St. Thomas resident is wanted by police. The individual, who is on conditions to not attend an address after a break and enter incident earlier this week, was found to be at the address on April 23rd. As a result, the 47 year old has been charged with one count Failure to Comply with Release Order. A warrant for arrest has been requested. ST24006218/6473
