Update: Search Warrants in Elgin County

Update

St. Thomas, ON – Friday March 27th 2026

The St. Thomas Police Service is providing an update in relation to an ongoing fraud and identity theft investigation following the execution of search warrants at properties in Springfield and Fingal on March 20th, 2026.

As a result of the investigation:

Chelsea O’Connor, 37, of St. Thomas was arrested at a residence in Springfield on March 20th.

During the investigation, officers seized items associated with identity theft, fraud, and drug trafficking, including identification documents, financial records, electronic equipment, controlled substances, cash, and prohibited weapons.

O’Connor is charged with:

  • Fraud Over $5,000
  • Identity Theft
  • Possession of Identification Documents
  • Possession of a Forged Document with Intent
  • Forgery
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
  • Failure to Comply with a Release Order (three counts)
  • Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (11 counts)

Seized drugs include: Cocaine, Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, Hydromorphone and several prescription medications.

Kali Robinson-Bobier, 33, of Fingal was arrested at a residence in Fingal.

Investigators located fraudulent identification documents, personal information belonging to multiple individuals, counterfeit currency, and equipment consistent with the production of fraudulent documents. A quantity of suspected methamphetamine was also seized.

Robinson-Bobier is charged with:

  • Fraud Over $5,000
  • Identity Theft
  • Possession of Identification Documents
  • Possession of a Forged Document with Intent
  • Forgery
  • Possession of Counterfeit Currency
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance (methamphetamine)
  • Failure to Comply with Conditional Sentence Order

Both appeared before the court on March 26th, 2026 and were remanded into custody.

Due to the volume of evidence seized, the investigation remains ongoing.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims. Anyone who believes their personal or financial information may have been compromised is encouraged to contact the St. Thomas Police Service.

St. Thomas Police Conducting Criminal Investigation in Springfield and Fingal

Members of the St. Thomas Police Service are currently conducting an active fraud-related criminal investigation at locations in Fingal and Springfield, within Central Elgin.

Officers are on scene at both addresses and are in the process of securing and processing the areas as crime scenes.

There will be an increased police presence in both communities for several hours as the investigation continues. There is no threat to public safety.
