Warrant Arrests

A 32-year-old St. Thomas resident was located and arrested on an outstanding bench warrant. St. Thomas Police located the individual, wanted for Failing to attend court for, Operation while Impaired, Flight from Police, take motor vehicle without consent, Fail to Remain, Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance, fail to stop after accident, and multiple other driving offences. A 31-year-old St. Thomas resident was located and arrested by Police, while at an unrelated call for service. The individual was wanted on outstanding theft under charges. Police transported the individual to Headquarters for processing, and later released with a future court date. ST25005732, ST2500435

A 54-year-old St. Thomas resident was located and arrested on outstanding warrants by London Police Service. Members of St. Thomas Police attended LPS headquarters to transport the individual back to St. Thomas. The individual was processed and held for a morning court appearance. A 24-year-old London resident was located and arrested during a traffic stop. The individual had outstanding charges, and wanted by London Police Service. The individual was transported to St. Thomas Police Headquarters, to wait for LPS to attend to transport back to London. ST25005759

Arrests

A 39-year-old St. Thomas resident was located and arrested on outstanding theft under charges from an incident earlier this week. The individual was processed and released on scene with a future court date. ST25005761

A 42-year-old St. Thomas resident was arrested by officers at the courthouse. The outstanding charges stemming from recent incidents of theft under and break and enter charges. The individual was processed at the courthouse and held for a court appearance. ST25005707, ST25005634, ST25005670

Intimate Partner Violence

St. Thomas Police respond to a 911 call in a residential area, on the city’s southeast side. The victim reported being in a domestic dispute, when things escalated, becoming physical. As a result of the investigation a 35-year-old St. Thomas resident has been arrested and charged with Spousal assault, and mischief. The individual was transported to Police Headquarters for processing and later released with conditions and a future court date. ST25005744

St. Thomas Police were called to a southside residential area, for a report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival both parties reported a verbal dispute only. Both agreed to separate for the night, and go to sleep. A short time later, after police left, the dispute escalated and both parties reported being assaulted by the other. As a result of the investigation, a 49-year-old St. Thomas resident was arrested and charged with spousal assault, and a 44-year-old St. Thomas resident was arrested and charged with spousal assault and fail to comply with probation x2. Both were transported to Police Headquarters for processing, and later released on conditions and with future court dates. ST25005760

Mischief

St. Thomas Police were called to a parking lot in the downtown area. The complainant reports that they were getting ready to leave work, when they observed an individual trying to break into their vehicle. The individual did not gain entry to the vehicle, however broke the windshield wiper off prior to leaving. Police attended the area and located the individual. A 39-year-old St. Thomas resident was arrested, charged with mischief, and released with a future court date. ST25005754

Fraud

An 85-year-old St. Thomas resident has fallen victim to an Amazon scam. An individual who identified as “Barry from Amazon”, convinced the victim that their information and accounts were compromised, after an unauthorized purchase of an iPad. The victim was instructed to move all their money to a secure bitcoin wallet. The victim was told, if they spoke of the incident to anyone, it would make them accomplices to their crimes, and was further instructed to tell the bank when withdrawing the money, it was for a kitchen renovation. In total the victim is out $5000.

St. Thomas Police wish to remind the public that Scammers often use threats to gain compliance, and will convince their victims to lie, and keep things a secret.
